Owens earns a few more points in my book...

...and the NFLPA worries me for '07 or '08, the first year the current contract, under which we have seen the NFL FLOURISH, between the league/teams and players is up and a retarded "rich-boy" strike could occur. I think it is stand-up of Owens to ignore NFLPA advice on the $49 MILLION dollar deal the Eagles put on the table for him and show that he trusts his coach and team's management (gasp) and get on to the "business" at hand, viz. "playing" football. Between his gladiator performance in the Super Bowl and now this, Owens is showing that he can be a stand-up guy when he wants to (something I've thought all along in a Dennis Rodman-type way, another guy who I think is whack, but doesn't have a bad heart) and is slowly earning my respect. From "The REAL Feed" here is the piece regarding Owens's rejection of NFLPA advisement on his contract sitch: NFLPA Against Deal Washington Post: Sports (15.04.2005 22:10) The NFL Players Association advised wide receiver Terrell Owens last year not to sign his present contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Any other thoughts...? Are the greedy, grimey hands of lawyers and agents, mind you, peripherally related to the precise "task" at hand, viz. "playing" football, going to (try to) ruin the NFL TOO here soon?
