HOT from atop "The REAL Feed":

N.J. authority paves way for $750M Giants stadium
ESPN: NFL (22.04.2005 16:47)
Team would finance construction by Associated Press

Any thoughts/perspectives,... Giants fans, Jersey residents, anybody?

There are a LOT of politics involved in this one.  The Pretend Governor certainly pushed this through very quickly and much of the burden of building it will fall upon the taxpayers (even more disheartening when the team is the "New York" Giants and half the state doesn't follow "New York" teams anyway).  The Governor found a very nice piece of land which is being given to the Sports and Exposition Authority for free.  Ironically, Pretend Governor Dick Codey has lined up the position of the Sports and Exposition Director when his pretend term as governor ends (at least that is the rumor).

Quote:
The Giants will pay $6.3 million a year to New Jersey in rent and taxes. The state is responsible for as much as $30 million in roadwork and still will be responsible for $124 million in debt that remains on the existing stadium.
And they say that the taxpayers won't take a hit?  The state already has such a large deficit -- even if we don't pay taxes directly to the new stadium, it will hit us in other ways.
