Title: Scoring is Up? Post by mcohen on Oct 6th, 2002, 12:56pm So, I was commenting in the NAFFLIU board on the increased scoring, have any of the other alliance leagues also noticed this? Apparently it has also applied in GBRFL to some degree. It's not a small jump here....It's around 25% increase from last year in NAFFLIU, so far. NAFFLIU is a TD based scoring league, so I wonder if the trend is as high in a yardage based league. Naturally, more scoring in the NFL "should" mean more yards, but not necessarily the same increase. |

Title: Re: Scoring is Up? Post by StegRock on Oct 8th, 2002, 12:46am As if we are not just talking to ourselves here, Morris... ::) (Perhaps, you can relate to my frustration a little more... vividly! :-[ ) Anyway, here is the link to the other thread regarding this topic for those interested: http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=77;action=display;num=1033890659 Actually, it is the CBFL where I am realizing higher scores. With the "Categorized Scoring" of the GBRFL, there would not really be much of a difference. Whether you win "Rushing Touchdowns", for example, 3 to 2 rather than 1 to 0 would not matter. Where it would come into play a little would be in the area of bonuses. But, the "Head-to-Head" stuff vis-a-vis the bonuses dominates the scoring. At any rate, in direct response to your query, scoring in the CBFL is full-blown performance-based, including both TD's and yardage. And, yes, scoring is noticably up, but to what degree exactly, I do not know. It is significant, but I think less than your estimate for the NAFFLIU, which is somewhat interesting given your very logical hypothesis that more TD's should mean more yards, which, logically at least, should then mean a bigger difference in scoring in leagues that have a scoring system that combines the two. Now, on to the real question... How many eyes will actually see this? Moreover, how many from the FFLA? [smiley=hmmmm.gif] [smiley=doseofreality.gif] [smiley=dejected.gif] ::) |
