Title: Question about Free Agents
Post by Walker Boh on Sep 23rd, 2003, 11:45pm
In case you didn't notice, I royally [smiley=king.gif] screwed myself last week with 2 of my 3 QB's sitting out with a bye...[smiley=doh.gif]  and just when I thought it was over, it got worse! Both of my D's (Miami and Tampa) have bye weeks! PLUS, my only PK! [smiley=shootmyself.gif]  Someone remind me to check the bye weeks BEFORE the draft next year! Talk about a rookie mistake! [smiley=caughtonthecan.gif] Not that it really matters, my team is looking pretty weak so far this year... But still, I do want to compete and put up a good fight each week. [smiley=boxer.gif]

Here's my question: Is it too late to make changes for this week's games? How exactly does the free agent process work? I checked the GBRFL2 site and it says we have a weekly 2 round worst to first, but it doesn't really go into much detail. I know this is something I should have figured out before the season started, but I didn't and now I'm paying the price... BIGTIME! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I was going to mention that you only had one QB playing this week, but you were my opponent, so I didn't think it was right.   ::)

Anyway, when you submit your lineup each week, there is a space to add free agents.  Just list the player you want to drop and list any free agents you want (in the order you want them).  If you want one of the free agents to start, just make a comment in the comments field, otherwise the free agent will be added to the bottom of your positional list.

So I can submit my lineup right now with my free agent pickups and they can still start for me this Sunday?
Thanks for the help Phily. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

[smiley=thumbsup.gif] That's right! As long as somebody else with a worse record doesn't want the player you want. That's why you place your lineup in a decending order just incase you don't get the person you want you still have control over who replaces him.

Actually...if you want one of the free agents to start, list them in your starting line up of that position.  IF you do NOT get that free agent, it will just go to the NEXT guy listed as a starter.

This is why everyweek you should list every player on your team......

Can someone please give me some insight on how this works for coaches?  I know the rules state that  you can add a coach for one week without dropping your current coach.  Does this become one of your two drop/adds for the week?   ?.?.?

NO....coach pick ups (for bye week) do NOT count as a pick up.  Next week just remember toi drop your coach. (IF YOU DON'T, STEG WILL)

What DD said with one slight point of clarification.  "Coach pick ups" NEVER count as one of your two free-agent picks.  It is a completely separate option that, actually, is available to you every week of the season.  And, correct, you do not need to drop your "main" head coach, the one you had (first), the week he is off.  You just request a "filler" coach; for that week, you carry both coaches, and if, for some reason, you forget to drop that "filler" coach the following week, I just do it automatically for you.  Of course, you can do whatever you want with your coaches as long as you indicate what you want to do, i.e. just drop and pick up whomever you want whenever you want in the "Coach add/drop" section at the bottom of the lineup submission form.
