Hey Steg! I thought you said earlier this year that we could not pick up Drew Hensen because he was officially unavailable? Does this mean I can pick up Kevin Jones now before we draft next year or is Drew Hensen available because he WAS drafted by the Texans? ?.?.?

I found your decision on the GBRFL site , so I assume the same thing goes for our GRBFL2 league.

I initially did not want him to be available, but was open-minded about the issue and ultimately was persuaded to let him be available. This was all discussed in thorough on the GBRFL board, including by some GBRFL2ers. He was actually subsequently picked up Week 1 in the GBRFL. So, yes, he would (have) be(en) available in the GBRFL2 (based on this) and has been successfully picked up this week in the GBRFL2. It was also decided/concluded, in our effort to keep things as simple and straightforward as possible, that Drew Hensen would be able to remain with that team, i.e., Hensen would not have to be dropped if he decided to re-enter the NFL draft. The way we determined to look at it is that he is already part of the NFL (in some way) and, thus, can be on a GBRFL league roster. Again, I would have rather had him be completely unavailable, but let myself be overruled and ultimately not really to my chagrin. Frankly speaking, I don't think he is that great of a pick-up. He would not even be on my radar (nor the radar of most of the guys I speak with). There ya have it. [smiley=shrug.gif]

Pardon my ignorance, but who is Kevin Jones and what are his circumstances?

He's messing with you Steg. Kevin Jones is the running back for Virginia Tech who delared himself eligible for this upcoming NFL draft. Probably the best RB in the country this year. Will make a nice NFL back too!

For the record, I think Hensen is a great pick up. Three NFL teams are VERY interested in him.

They would be:

Miami
Oakland
Pittsburgh

Granted, he would probably not start this next year, but probably start in 2005. That is just my speculation.

I betcha the Intelligent human being in GBRFL was probably smart enough to hold onto Chad Pennington for a few years recognizing his great potential. ;D ;)

(please, no comments on where that intelligent human is currently in the standings.) :P
