Jamie - you need a different pick at 9.08 - Jeff Garcia was a protected player of Keith's. Here is the coach round so far: .01 Rob drops Fisher and takes Holmgren .02 same .03 Jeff drops Tice and takes Fox. .04 same .05 same .06 -- Keith, you're up. You want to keep Parcells or change? .07 same .08 same .09 same .10 same |

Title: Re: 2005 GBRFL2 Discussion Thread Post by bgsgfan on Aug 15th, 2005, 12:48am Thanks for helping me out guys, the picks were close enough to what I would have taken for kickers. :) I had a friend having mild seizures at work... he is ok, not a huge deal but the way it was put to me it sounded like it was. We did it! We finished the draft in one night (besides 1 coach and one duplicate selection). |

Title: Re: 2005 GBRFL2 Discussion Thread Post by DirkDiggler on Aug 15th, 2005, 7:57am Good draft. Glad you all were able to knock it out in one night. I think there were very strong value picks. Amazing that a starting QB were still available in the late 3rd and 4th rounds, especially considering that you must start two in this league....... Here are what I view as best value: Juror getting Drew Bledsoe with the 3.06 Walker getting Frerrotte with 3.08 Juror getting Dilfer with 4.06 Walker getting Frank Gore at 2.08 Walker getting Jason Campbell at 3.04 and what MAY be the pick of the draft. Mike Anderson falling to 5.07 to Tony_O. I guess that offsets what I view as the worst value pick from Tony_O at 1.07 with Brandon Jacobs. |

Title: Re: 2005 GBRFL2 Discussion Thread Post by Tony_O on Aug 15th, 2005, 3:44pm Just a little info...... Jacobs Proving His Worth Rookie running back stays focused as he leaves his mark on the field...and on opposing defenders. By Aurie Villari, Giants.com August 7, 2005 ALBANY, N.Y. ; When Brandon Jacobs gets into position for a play, he isnt thinking about the crowd cheering or the opposing players trying to distract him. All he thinks about is his assignment and giving his all. RB Brandon Jacobs is proving the Giants made a smart move by picking him in the 4th round of this year's NFL Draft. Giants fans have been cheering Jacobs exploits daily during training camp at the University at Albany. They have gotten louder as Jacobs, the bruising 267-pound running back, has continued to demonstrate that he could be an important contributor to the Giants offense this season. Jacobs, however, pays scant attention to his growing legion of fans. Asked if the crowds reaction is something he hears while on the field Jacobs said, Half the time no, I really dont because Im zeroing in on what Im supposed to be doing. I have to think about doing well on the next play. During Saturday mornings practice with the Jets, Jacobs had one play that truly stood out to all in attendance. He took a handoff up the middle, the cut to his right, where he collided hard with the Jets recently-acquired cornerback Pete Hunter, who was knocked back five yards in an impressive display of power. Later, Jacobs was asked why he ran over, and not around, Hunter. Oh, I could have gone around him, but it was cut and dried for me Jacobs said. It was a nice little run and I didnt want to waste anymore energy going around him. During the feisty morning practice there was plenty of hitting and quarreling. To Jacobs, it was all just part of football. Thats part of the game you know. You get your momentum going and things happen, Jacobs said. We are supposed to stay up you know, but I dont know what he is going to do and he doesnt know what Im going to do so therefore its a collision. While he admits that a lot of studying and practicing goes into being a great football player, Jacobs still likes to rely on his talent and toughness on the field. Most of the plays that I make Im just going with the flow this was faster a lot faster and they have a good defense, said Jacobs, who is expected to back up Tiki Barber and perhaps be the Giants primary third down and goal line runner this season. It was better than I thought it was going to be. Its a serious game out there and a lot of people watching think, oh theyre getting paid its all good. But its tough man, its real tough out there. Especially down in the trenches, its not a joke at all. Jacobs has been showing Giant fans a taste of what they hope to see out of him during the season. The fourth-round draft choice from Southern Illinois has been using his power to run over people, as well as using his speed to around them. At 6-4 and 267 pounds, he has an advantage going up against most linebackers and almost all corners and safeties. The Giants drafted him in the hopes of him contributing immediately. From the looks of things, he will. |
