Title: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by MordecaiCourage on Jul 7th, 2006, 5:10pm OK ... so I understand that I will have 5 of 15 lottery tickets for 1st pick in the draft. Correct? I also understand this is not a snake draft...you pick where you draw, ie 1st, 11th, 21st etc. (barring trades) Correct? You can protect up to 12 players, is there a minimum? You can trade players , protection spots, draft picks, etc. Correct? What I'm not sure of is something I saw on last years transaction board...that was the statement that a 1st round Free Agent Pick was traded??? I have looked all over (unsuccessfully) for any info. regarding a Free Agent Draft. Is this during the draft or is this an seperate draft altogether? OR....do I just not get it!! |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by Walker Boh on Jul 7th, 2006, 5:18pm MC, that transaction refers to weekly free agent pick ups. Our weekly add & drops are submitted with our lineups, and if 2 owners submit for the same free agent, the player with the worst record will obtain the rights to that player. Each week there are 2 rounds of free agent picks. The order is determined by the current standings, worst to first. The worst team getting the first pick in each of the 2 rounds. So if I'm the last place team, I can trade my First Round Free Agent pick if I so desired. That Free Agent position would guarantee that the person receiving it would get their #1 pick from the free agent pool that week. |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by steelkings on Aug 25th, 2006, 6:45am NEXT QUESTION Aside trades, Is there any transactions permissible between the end of the draft and the first game of the regular season? Can you add and drop players? |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by Chumpzilla on Aug 25th, 2006, 8:39am Trades yes. Add/drops are done via the waiver process and the first one will be Thursday, September 7th. It is a two round straight "draft" and the order varies week to week based on inverse standings. Does that help?? ?.?.? |

And, Week One's free-agent requests are processed worst-to-first as per the FINAL standings last year WITHOUT consideration of the lottery (so, i.e., Jim has the third pick of free-agency Week One, not Gene, who "goes back" to having the fifth pick). |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by steelkings on Aug 30th, 2006, 7:05am NEXT QUESTION On the Free agent requests, If there is three guys im interested in, I put one in to drop and list the three names? If three people in line in front of me pick up those three players and I dont have a 4th listed then Im skipped over. Correct? Will I know who people are taking before my turn or is it all done at once? |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by Tony_O on Aug 30th, 2006, 9:40am It's all done at once and you will not know who has done what. That is why you list multiple pick ups and have a plan a, b,c, and d. Once the line-ups are opened up you can see who requested who, but you cannot change anything by then. |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by Philly on Aug 30th, 2006, 10:11am Also, let's say you decide you want to drop Player A, and list Players X, Y, and Z as possible pick-ups. Players X, Y, and Z are all gone by the time your FA pick comes around. You don't lose Player A then. Because of this, FA picks are tradable. When the next Samkon Gado sneaks up on everyone, the last place team will be inundated with offers for the first round FA pick that following week. Finally, there is a comments section on the lineup submission form. Be sure to use it if you think something you're doing is going to be unclear. |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by steelkings on Sep 9th, 2006, 6:28am Next Question: 1. Scoring: My No#1 back go's head to head against my opponents No#1 ? Or is it my three backs as a whole against his. Give me an example: Like my rb1 Has 120 yrd and 1 TD and my oppents 1 back has 110yrds and 2 td's. How is it scored. I'm not sure about the bonus levels either. Splain Lucy! 2. If I go to view my opponents lineup or others, I'm denied access to some. I can get into about 1/2 of the view lineups sections. Should I be able to get into all or none? Or just my own? 3. Lets say the guy who has the first pick for free agents needs a back to start and Bobby Blue chip is availible. Can he pick him up and slot him in his line up where ever? Does that player have to wait till the following week to put him on his roster after he's confirmed? Case and point: Could I have started Batch and his 3 TD's over Rivers this week.(Assumming I was able to pick him up) Three questions is probably too much for one session. Hook me up brothers |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by Tony_O on Sep 9th, 2006, 11:17am Question #1: Your total stats from your 3 backs versus your opponents total stats from his 3 backs. The bonus levels can be attained by both teams, you just have to hit the yards, tds, etc. Question #2: You should have access to all of the line-ups, but you do have to go back and enter your password everytime. Question #3: When submitting your line-up for that week you can slot your FA pick-ups wherever you want them to be, #1 RB, #3RB, #7RB, etc. Yes, you "could" have placed Batch as your #2 QB and got his points. |

Title: Re: Help me understand something GBRFL2ers??? Post by steelkings on Sep 11th, 2006, 8:43am NEXT QUESTION Who handles the official scoring? Is there a spread sheet that shows how the games are scored so I can learn to grade my own games? Example of my confusion: HEAD TO HEAD My kicker( Vinatieri) Has Field goals of 31 yrds 32 yrds 26 yrds 48 yrds 2 xpnts Total points = 14 My opponent's Kicker (Kasay) has field goals of 54 yrds 46 yrds Total points = 6 How is this scored overall? Does my 48 yarder cancel his 46 yarder? He gets points for the 54 yarder and I get points for the rest ? |

So, I guess you hadn't been "doing your homework" back during the "campaign". ;) Yes, there is a spreadsheet. I was IMPLORING you guys to download one before I knocked the 2005 ones down. They were up there all the way through last Monday. I anticipate that the scores for the week will be posted by Thursday, at which time the (week's) spreadsheet (that you can download and tinker with or whatever) will be available via the "Game Results" page. I do the spreadsheet prep work and template the raw stats I receive from TQStats.com; league member Jamie Josko a.k.a. Walker Boh "runs the stats" for this league; I do so for the mother league.
