Title: Pardon this interuption Post by steelkings on Oct 1st, 2006, 12:23pm Quote:
Fella's, I coach fall high school baseball and am in the middle of a tournament today. I do not have time to completely redo my line up card as I must get back to the ballpark for game two. I hope I can announce my kicker as changed to Stover here on this thread. Everything else stays the same. Enjoy a great day of football Thank Todd |

Title: Re: Pardon this interuption Post by PrimeTime on Oct 1st, 2006, 12:30pm You are good to go buddy. The beauty of the GBRFL format is that it will automatically default to your next kicker if your first kicker is out. |

Title: Re: Pardon this interuption Post by StegRock on Oct 1st, 2006, 12:43pm The change from Vinatieri to Stover is NOW reflected on your official lineup page, sk. on 10/01/06 at 12:30:45, PrimeTime wrote: BUT, NOOOOOOO!!! IGNORE POST IMMEDIATELY ABOVE!!! This is something I've spent a TON of time (in year's past) DRILLING into you guys... [smiley=no.gif] KICKERS and DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS do NOT cascade!!! In the case of KICKERS and DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS, it will NOT default to the "next guy". PLEASE NOTE THIS NOW!!! Thank you! |

Title: Re: Pardon this interuption Post by PrimeTime on Oct 1st, 2006, 1:11pm I thought the rule was if your Kicker was listed st "out" it would default but if they simply scored zero it would not??? |

Title: Re: Pardon this interuption Post by StegRock on Oct 1st, 2006, 1:17pm NO!!! That's exactly the (potential) point of confusion I have busted hump to disabuse!!! No such (administrative nightmare of a) distinction is made!!! You get your topmost listed kicker no matter what, i.e. whether he doesn't score because of a bye-week, being out due to injury, OR his just not scoring. That is the case! Make note of it NOW,... PLEASE!!! |

Title: Re: Pardon this interuption Post by StegRock on Oct 1st, 2006, 2:14pm [offtopic]Do also note, though, that if a dude just totally biffs and inputs a kicker he doesn't even have,... like in the case of a player requested in free-agency that was listed in the lineup, but wasn't acquired,... THAT (player or defense) would simply be ignored. But,... remember,... that is not a function of "cascading", per se. That is just a case of simply "ignoring" that input. And, there are sticky situations where this distinction matters.[/offtopic] |

[offtopic]Or, like in your case here this week, Gene, you have the Browns going as your defense. But, it is NOT a case of "cascading". Your listing the Redskins (only) will be "ignored". (That having been said, had you NOT included the notes you did and had another defense on your roster (ahead of the Browns, which you just picked up), let's hypothetically say the Broncos who are off this week, but who you started last week, you'd have been fucked because it would have "defaulted" to the Broncos, NOT the Browns.) (So, Gene, NOTE that it would have been better, i.e. clearer, to list both the Redskins and Browns in your lineup rather than (just) insert those notes. The notes are fine, too, but they are better as just accompaniment to the lineup, which Jamie and I are primarily consulting.)[/offtopic] |
