Title: IMPORTANT: Player Transactions! Post by StegRock on Oct 4th, 2002, 11:29am Guys, Remember that, based on how we go about "Player Transactions" in the GBRFL, Quincy Morgan is NOT available to be picked up this week even though he is listed "already" as a drop due to an uneven (in players) trade. I decided to report the trade since it was made so early in the week, but "technically" it does not go into effect until the kickoff of the week's games. By reporting it early, all I really did was limit the choices of the owner, in this case ME, by posting it before the kickoff of the week's games. Truth be told, an owner in such a situation has until kickoff of the week's games to decide who he wants to cut in such a trade, uneven (in players) that is. Trades do not have to be reported early in the week. ACTUALLY, they should just be included on your lineup submission form in the "Trades" section. Bottom line, if you and the person you make a trade with report/confirm a trade early in the week, you will be bound to what you stated in your original correspondence just like I am right now, in essence. At any rate, again, I repeat Quincy Morgan is NOT part of Week 5's free-agent pool. He will become part of the free-agent pool come Week 6. |

Title: Re: IMPORTANT: Week 5 Player Transactions Post by DOLFAN on Oct 8th, 2002, 1:38am That's fine Steve, just please try to update the transactions page a bit sooner. It's a bit tough going through all of the lineups to see who we got and didn't get. The Rosters and Transaction still were not updated LATE Monday night before the game. Usually you are on top of this. I guess for some reason you were very busy this week. No biggy. I'm just busting your balls. |

Title: Re: IMPORTANT: Week 5 Player Transactions Post by StegRock on Oct 8th, 2002, 3:59am YES, you are and YES, I am! For those of you who have never participated in the GBRFL while I am out of the country, that would be Joe (obviously), Steve and Doug, you must understand/be understanding of the fact that we are on a different, less ideal I suppose, timetable. I "exist" 13, soon to be 14, hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. My (work)week begins while Sunday's games are still being played. Point being, you have been fortunate thus far. Bottom line, there will be many a week when the "Transactions"/"Rosters" pages may not get updated until Tuesday morning (for you guys) AND the "Game Results"/"Standings" pages may not be updated until Thursday morning (for you guys) and, perhaps, even sometimes not until Thursday night (for you guys). This is just a reality of the difference in time zones and my schedule, which this week has included preparation for mid-term exams and which, over the next two to three weeks (PLEASE note), will include the grading of those approximately 200 two-page exams. Suffice it to say, this is one of those weeks! I'll get the shit posted as soon as I reasonably can! [smiley=tired.gif] Thank you all for your understanding and patience! [smiley=bow.gif] |

Title: Re: IMPORTANT: Player Transactions! Post by StegRock on Sep 14th, 2003, 10:54pm Guys, I had to make small change to the free-agents this week. Rob Pak submitted his free-agents in an invalid manner (by indicating he wanted to "pick back up" the Patriots D/ST, something you are not allowed to do) and when I processed them, I missed the instructions he gave in the comments section and I interpretted things incorrectly (something I shouldn't have to do anyway, but...). After seeing his notes here later tonight, I then understood more precisely what he wanted to do. The change turns out to be worse for him, actually. In the end, he ultimately dropped the New England Patriots, NOT Kevin Johnson, for the Minnesota Vikings. Hope that's clear. Thanks for your anticipated understanding and cooperation!
