Title: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on Jan 10th, 2003, 12:16am Fellas, this month is going to (continue to) be absolutely fuckin' crazy for me, so I am NOT going to be able to get to things like updating the "Transactions" or "Rosters" pages if trades go down this month, especially since it would be a pretty big job right now as I would have to make new pages for the 2003 season and archive the 2002 pages. So, let's report any offseason trades that GET DONE until then (February hopefully) HERE! ONLY PUT TRADES THAT ARE DONE DEALS HERE, THOUGH! DO NOT PUT TRADE PROPOSALS ON THIS THREAD! Do that on some other thread(s). THIS THREAD IS ONLY TO BE FOR REPORTING TRADES THAT HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY FINALIZED BY BOTH PARTIES! Along those lines, Steggie here has definitely kicked off offseason trading with a bang. Here are two trades that have gone down thus far: Steve Stegeman traded Ahman Green and Tony Gonzalez to Joe Parsons for Jamal Lewis and Darrell Jackson; Steve Stegeman traded Brian Griese to Rob Pak for Jerry Rice. (Please follow the above pattern so that things are easy to follow! Thanks!) |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on Mar 6th, 2003, 9:15pm Guys, Given ALL the deals that have gone down (no credit to li'l ole' me [smiley=awwgee.gif] ), I decided to start updating the site in piecemeal. So, I took an hour tonight and dealt with the page that is probably the most messed up as well as the most needed for reference purposes, the "Rosters (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/gbrfl/rosters.htm)" page. The "2002 Rosters" page has been archived while the "Current Rosters" page includes ALL deals made thus far this offseason. I will continue to update that page in a timely fashion as deals continue to go down. However, we will continue to use this page to report and announce trades for awhile longer. Thank you all for your continued understanding and patience. I am... ...Looking Forward to another Awesome GBRFL Season, Steg Your Commish |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on May 13th, 2003, 11:15pm Fellas, I have finally updated the "Transactions (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/gbrfl/transactions.htm)" page! HOWEVER, I would still like you guys to report trades here. It is actually the most efficient method of going about reporting a trade; it also provides backup documentation, and it allows us to "go public," which is kind of the point of our board here on "the Gridiron" and the FFLA of which the GBRFL is a part. Anyway, enjoy the updated page as well as the archives. Be in touch! I am... ...At you all's service, [smiley=bow.gif] Steve |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by DOLFAN on Jun 4th, 2003, 11:57pm [smiley=deal.gif] JOE made another lopsided deal and prolly paid too much. [smiley=yes.gif] Joe gave up the 1.9, 2.4 and 4.10 Dave Bohrer gave up the 1.3, 8.3 and 9.3. All picks are in the 2003 draft. I had all those extra pick and needed to us them. Laugh if you will i like the deal. I will get at least 1 of the guys i want. [smiley=havinablast.gif] [smiley=dancin.gif] |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by Fiedlers Choice on Jun 9th, 2003, 10:12pm I'm thinking about some of the deals I made. I am not sure how the "throw in" picks work... the ones to even out a trade. Steve, maybe you can provide some insight. For example, when Joe reported our 2 deals, he spelled out the specific picks I returned to him. I now see that I also have Warner's ninth round pick from my second trade with Joe. If these picks are given away on a first come, first serve basis, maybe Joe should have gotten the 9.2 instead of the 8.3 in the last deal. Or maybe the fact that he spelled it out gives him that better pick. If it becomes an issue, I recall giving him the 8.3 and 9.3 picks because I thought they were my last. Similarly, I thought I had given Pak the 7.3 because I thought it was my last. |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on Jun 9th, 2003, 11:19pm D.B., this kind of thing is one of those cases where I have to play clean-up. Ultimately, each of you individually has to keep track of these things before finalizing deals. If you are not sure, you should first check through this page and our "Transactions" page or I suppose you could check with me, or... [smiley=whatever.gif] However, as you are kind of suggesting and correctly so, if it is never specifically stipulated, it would automatically defer to your "current" last pick(s). So, again, if you are not sure, but want the trade to go through thusly, just don't clarify it and I will go about adding in those "late round" compensation picks. But, I just looked through things and as it effects you there will not be a difference here. Pak should get your "current" last pick back, Warner's 9th rounder. If you said your "last pick" and just in passing mentioned that you "thought" it was your 7th-round pick, that "mention" would not matter. As it stands, your 9.2 (Warner's) pick is the pick that would go to Pak. That is how the trade was reported. "Lucky Joe" would get to keep your 8th rounder as it was "explicitly stated" that way. Ultimately, though, I really don't think Pak is going to care one way or another. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about it, D.B.! If you, any of you, are not sure in the future, and I know this can get confusing, [smiley=lost.gif] just agree to report it in "general language", i.e. like you did your last deal with Pak. Thanks! Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by Pakman on Jun 10th, 2003, 6:14pm Just wanted to confirm that Rob traded Kordell Stewart and his 3.7 pick for Keyshawn Johnson and DB's last pick. I don't care which pick it is. ;D |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on Jul 21st, 2003, 3:56am Guys, just a really quick note before I FINALLY hit the hay here for the night... With our draft fast approaching, Joe was going through the trades and picked off a couple small mistakes on the official "Transactions" page at the site. While fixing them, I noticed another. They for the most part just deal with those late-round compensatory picks, so none of this is a big deal. Just check things out over at the site when you get the chance and make sure everything is copasetic with your picks. Thank you... for your understanding and cooperation! [smiley=bow.gif] |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on Jul 21st, 2003, 3:13pm Fellas, after dealing with all the confusing minutiae last night, I decided to give our "Transactions" page a slightly new look, from here on out at least, i.e., I did not apply the change to past "Transactions" pages (TOO MUCH work :P ). It should make tracking trades MUCH LESS confusing. I hope it helps! [smiley=bow.gif] |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by StegRock on Jul 27th, 2003, 1:03pm Deal has gone down between Steve Stegeman and Dave Bohrer. For details on the deal, go to the "Transactions" page. It DOES affect both teams protections spots. |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by Fiedlers Choice on Aug 4th, 2003, 5:40pm Charlie's back, baby. ::) The Holmo's and I cut a deal on the way home yesterday. Steve gets Duce Staley, Correll Buckhalter and Terry Glenn for Charlie Garner, Quincy Morgan and Jonathan Wells. Steve is still in the process of updating the site. [smiley=caughtonthecan.gif] |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by DOLFAN on Aug 5th, 2003, 11:55am hmmm, interesting. Only time will tell to see who got the better end of this deal. I thought that you were really high on Morgan this year Stegey. For some reason i guess you downgraded him. I too think that Buck will be the guy in PHI this year. Nice youth movement for ya Stegey. Looks like Bohrer's tream keeps getting better and better. I'm certain though that neither of you guys are done dealing yet. This deal helps both teams. |

It's not that I am "down" on Morgan at all; it's that I am "REALLY HIGH" on Buckhalter. Case in point, I pretty much banked the house on him in the CBFL. I was actually the first guy to acquire him back two years ago. The point ultimately is "you gotta' give to get" (in the long-run at least), especially to have success in this league,... Joe (implication: duping a guy into trading "something for nothing" is not what is going to put you over the top in this league, moreover, trying to do so and occasionally pulling a fast one is going to set a bad precedent with the "FF sophisticates" we have in the GBRFL). In this trade, the guy Dave REALLY likes is Morgan (as do I). With my (unexpectedly) getting Boerigter in the draft, a VERY PLEASANT SURPRISE as he is another guy I am REALLY HIGH on, I could spare a receiver, and to pull the deal, Quincy it had to be. Also worthy of note, you know that I am, in the least, a Glenn apologist, i.e., he is another guy I have a soft spot for, so in getting him back I got another guy I kind of like. As for "my youth movement" that you point out, well, I actually got slightly older. With regards to age, the trade amounts to Dave's getting an old RB (who still has gas left in the tank, though) for a getting-old RB (who may never find a home again), a very young RC for a very young RB, and very young RB for a getting-old RC (both of whom may not even be in the league in two years, perhaps). As for your assertion of our not being done dealing, well, who is? This is a year-round keeper league. There may be times when you do not need to trade. I actually felt that I was in such a situation leaving the draft. I was not in need of a trade, and if Dave and I did not spend roughly three and a half hours in the car together going to Philly and back, we probably would not have cut this deal. We literally cut the deal right before he let me off at my house on Sunday. Anyway, my only reason for breaking this out like this, Joe, is just because you present things in a way that appears insightful when in actuality your facts are not completely accurate, your presentation is laced with generalities, and your logic is kind of twisted, or at least inconsistent, as when you say, "Only time will tell... who got the better end..." and then, "Dave's team keeps getting better...". Well, peace out, brother! [smiley=hippy.gif] |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by Fiedlers Choice on Aug 5th, 2003, 12:53pm I knew you would like that deal, Joe P. [smiley=jawdroppin.gif] Like everyone else, I just trying not to get demoted to the minors, I mean the GBRFL2. [smiley=nervous.gif] Besides, Charlie Garner mentioned something about being Holmophobic. [smiley=pirate.gif] |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by Fiedlers Choice on Aug 5th, 2003, 1:00pm Regarding Steve's post... yeah Joe, I don't get the youth movement comment either. Q is a solid young receiver. I guess you meant at RB? I am never done trading. Jonathan Wells is definately on the block. |

Title: Re: Offseason Trades Post by DOLFAN on Aug 5th, 2003, 11:37pm Yes, i meant at RB Dave. Steve, i do know that you really like Buck and have a soft spot for Glenn. As far as being twisted?...only time will tell. [smiley=frank.gif] |
