I recall that Rob Murtha was 8-0 one year and then was 8-8. :o

I'm just glad to see someone say something.   :-X  This league used to have an interesting trash board.  I don't know what happened to you guys [smiley=chicken.gif].  I know that if my team didn't suck ass, I would be all over the place.        [smiley=doseofreality.gif]  But I suck and I can't say anything. :-X ;)  ...  yet.

Don't screw with my bench!  Week 1 and 2 Curtis Martin ran for over 100 yards each week.  Week 3 Stallworth went ahead and caught a TD and 100 yards.  And finally this week, Duece McAllister was on my bench because he "may split carries" and proceeded to rush for over 100 yards.

And I wonder why I only have two wins.

The way it looks to me is a 2 man race between francis and The Nation of Domination. Francis, you know you got lucky in week1 with the overturn of the game. I made a few trades and now with the addition of RUDY to my squad look out.

As for Stegman, you team is for shit and is fallen apart quickly which i love seeing. It was fun kicking your ASS with 4 of my starters on the bench for bye weeks.

Trout, you have always sucked but i give you credit for always talking a big game. You should name your team the Snapper Heads because year in and out you snap a lot but never back it up!!!

Hahn, we can always count on you for destroying your teams via trades. How did you dump Portis for those scrubs. If you want to get rid of a scrub, how about Vick. He sucks for this league, you have not figured that out yet. I think Bledsoe has better QB stats then Vick and Bledsoe sucks!!!

Title: Re: Trash Talk Section
Post by Art Vandalay on Oct 13th, 2004, 8:32am
Well Danny, thanks for the uhm....compliment :-/.
It's a two horse race but one horse looks pretty gimpy. With two bad arms (Bledsoe, McNair) three bad legs (Faulk, Shipp, Griffin) and a Moss growing in the good hoof. I don't think that horse will make it through the entire race without being put down.  :-/
I'd be happy to be the one to put it down though. Just say the word. I predict week 8 will be the end of the two horse race.
See you then.  ;D

Before you snap your mouth, you need to know what you are talking about. I agree with you that Faulk and Griffin are problems. Thats why i just traded for Rudi Johnson, oh and i think I picked up Ruben Droughns as well. To have Faulk, Dillon, Rudi Johnson,Q Griffin or Droughns is not too bad!! Marcell Shipp will back back next year. The reason why i have three rings is because i can adapt. My wr are the best in the league!! Forgetting about Moss, there is no mention of Jackson or J Walker who both have better stats then any one of your wr including TO!!! Please, before you open your mouth, get the facts straight....

Title: Re: Trash Talk Section

So sounds like a long winded admitance that the QBs suck and the RBs are mediocre. I can accept that. I wouldn't have expected you to agree with me so it's quite refreshing.

;D As I said, see you week 8.

Well, now that the pesky 9-0 barrier has been broken  :o, I'm headed in to my toughest game of the year. No Colts - No offense. I'm practically conceding this weeks game.  :'(

I've heard good things about this week's opponent.  :o

The revolution has started in Tampa Bay.  First, Chris Simms over your boy Johnson.  Next Stevie Jackson will take over for Faulk and the revolution, the comeback, will be in full swing.  Talk now bitch cause your going down!

The mere mention of Chris Simms sends streaks of terror down my spine. I only hope, no, pray that I can come out of this week without being demoralized, let alone with a win.

I ask all of you to be supportive and keep me in your thoughts this week. I will need all of the help I can get when I go against the mighty Shockwaves. [smiley=scream.gif]

Docter Dan,

Well, well, well - you open your yapper and then I come out and like always, use you like a shoe. The McNil bros. really came through for you this week. The one thing that I was surprised about is that you didn't play Droughns against me this week. That probably would have given you the win. Maybe you will put him in your starting lineup next week.

As for Joe P., you did put a whupin' on me so I the week wasn't a complete success. Oh, wait - yes it was. I stomped Feder.

p.s. - I am trying to see if anyone knows who the top receiver is in Cincinnati. I thought that earlier in the year I had traded for him but I can't seem to find him anywhere. Oh, that's right. He is busy sending out Pepto-Bismol to everyone. How funny!!!!

Hey Chad, do me a favor -

STOP SCREWING AROUND AND CATCH A DAMN TD OR A BALL OCCASIONALLY.

I finally won my 2nd game. Maybe now I can win a 3rd. Ahman and Portis look like a pretty good start, if only I could get a decent #3 RB to help out. I can't get any rushing TDs, but DAUNTE'S PEAKING this year. He is on pace for a career year.

What can I say? I agree with Steg to some extent, certainly not to the depth at which his post was intended. I have been very cautious this past year in regards to trades. I admittedly have not had enough depth to take the chance of doing a deal that just didn't feel right to me.
I missed the chance to get some good players, namely Chambers, TO and Tiki, which nobody saw having a huge year like he is having. This deal happens to fit both team right now, it is a win/win.
Maybe I can play spoiler to someone towards the end of the year. Hell Frankie, you crushed me by all of 1 point, and that was when I only had 1 starting RB. Favre will hurt, but with DAUNTE PEAKING like he is I can't do any worse without Favre can I???

By the way, that's me in your rearview about to pass your crap-squad again this year.
Joe, great sense of sarcasm commenting on our trade. I'm sure you have the better player for the future. However, you'll need Warner's crystal ball to predict his impact on your squad 4 years from now. Afterall, the internet -guy formula is to build for 5 years out correct? One last thing: I sure hope Daunte's not Peeking at your W-L record....what a waste of some awesome fantasy production.

Trout you are the biggest loser i know. You call me at all hours to tell me how bad you beat me. You would think you just won the lottery. I thank you for the compliment!! I guess this is the biggest accomplishment of your life, or it seems is beating me. I am your bitch?? I kicked you ass the first time we played and yes my QB did not go out after the first few plays and my best RC was not on the bench. I can see you have very high expectations for your life. You can take the victory and call it a season since you just won the league. OH SHIT, that cant be right, you have never won the league. When things go well for you"which of couse is only being competative never winning" you can not shut up. When things go bad for you, you basically quit the league and do not even summit line ups. I hope you stay competative because the league is better with 10 teams not 9. We all know from the past when Trouts team does not do well he quits. Thats the true life story of Trout. Never a winner but is always in the hunt!!I am very proud of you Trout. I hope you enjoy this victory, Congrads!!!!

Frankie...don't mention it with the Giants..glad I could help. Come to think of it, I suspect your team will turn out much like the underachieving oh-G-men. (wishful thinking I guess).
Good doctor, so glad to hear from you! Or was that you? I mean grammatically everything was going way to smooth in your post.
Surely, I said, this can not be the mind of the 97 lb. chimp I've grown to adore; the guy that has the vocabulary of a 3 month old crack baby. But finally, there it was, ( inconspicious to the casual reader of such mindless drivel) a new meaning to the word summit..as in summitting your lineup. (so you can be COMPETATIVE).
Alas, maybe Featter forgot to pay his last installment on the post someone wrote for him and had to challenge his brilliant minned.

I am not sure if i won this week, I dont think i did. Before i start getting abused if this is fact keep in mind the following. I had 4 of my starters out due to bye weeks and injuries. Mcnair,Moss, Dillon and Faulk. The good thing is that they will all be back in the up coming weeks and i should begin to roll. I do not need anyone to kick and man when he is down. It is one thing if i had most of my team playing. YES, this is an excuse FRANK, i would give you props if i was beat with my full squad. Dont pull a Trout on me, there is a long way to go. I figure by now both Trout and Stegman would fly down for an appoitment to see me. I am sure your necks are killing you by looking up at me in the standings all season. Trout I know that you killed me when we played(oh so you think). You see guys you have to realize how crazy it is that i am in this. The injuries that i have had and still have is ridiculous. I am a fucking great GM. To be able to manage a team and win year after year is plan stupid. The only reason i am not on top YET, is due to the dismantling of my team a few weeks ago when i played Frank. Now that i almost have everyone healthy again its time to roll. I have always said especially to those bottom dwellers(Trout) it is the end result what counts. A Freaking championship that matters. I know it makes those who have never had success in this league to talk smack early on. Dont you feel stupid after the season is over when you have not won AGAIN!! Then you have the nerve to always get the first  few picks in the draft, year after year and still stink!!( Thats right Warner) I have not had a top three pick in this leauge since we first drafted. This is just something for everyone to think about. Soon to be Chamion again with 4 rings Nation of Domination....P.S I am taking donations to help build a bigger trophy case because i am out groing the current one i have...

Francis;
Great job on the magic# (you've got Feder absolutely confused now). The pressure  is all on you amigo. I was reminded recently to look back thru the 1999 season which previously was the biggest collapse  in modern sports history. (yeah You). Now that the Yanks have one-upped you, I expect you to again reclaim the title. Your two best players are 18 and 81 as in 1918. So, Dr. Danny calls me on Sunday evening all clamouring how his game against Trout is over, how he CRUSHED him and also how his game with Frank is close and that he probably has the edge over him. [smiley=pullleeeeeeeze.gif] ... ::) I mean he hadn't a clue about the real statistics and how they're processed, ?.?.? BUT, he did almost correctly point out that he needed like only 8 or so yards rushing from Marshall Faulk on Monday night... 7 rushes for 7 yards later and... [smiley=doseofreality.gif] ... [smiley=slap.gif] two losses later... [smiley=doh.gif] ... [smiley=no.gif] ... [smiley=itllbeok.gif]

Steg, congratulations on a win. Not a great win, but a win never the less. The fact remains, the Pats and Westbrook single handedly won the game for you. That's it. That's all you had. Your meager bunch of second tier misfits (shouldn't they be on that island with "Charley in the Box") don't even come close to the talent on my team. But that's why we have to actually play the game. Unfortunately I came in on the short end of the stick this week.

?.?.? What do you expect from those Mountain People in Denver?
:P Isn't Colorado the South of the West?

THEM ARE FIGHTIN' WORDS. In no way can Colorado be called the South of the West. Most of us have teeth. I am surprised most of you guys don't recognize her - she was recently crowned Miss NJ.

:-[ I may have been erroneous. Perhaps it's the West of the South, I'm not sure now.
Just please, don't make a case by talking about the great amateur hockey championships, and second to none Roller Derby squads, and WWF Champions...I won't even talk NASCAR.

:-/ Not to trash talk too early but.....
[smiley=doh.gif]How in the hell did the other 9 teams ahead of me not even try to get T.J. Houshmandzadeh? Couldn't you spell it? (171 yards last week, 145 yard this week)
:P I'm a little dissapointed that you guys aren't even putting up a fight.

Doug, Joe, sorry to take it out on you guys this week, but you guys are in for an ol' fashioned, down home, thrashing.

That's OK.
The magic number still drops to  [smiley=gladiator.gif] [smiley=gladiator.gif] [smiley=gladiator.gif]
and all the pressure is on Steve. He has 3 games left to my 2, and has to get past Hahn and Fedder who are no cake walk.
8-) Every "Two Jakes" loss is another nail in his own coffin. But he knows that. ;)

Hear that, Warner and Pak!  Francisco is de facto calling you two cake walks!  Them there are fightin' words!  I think a lesson is needing to be taught to our "Latin [smiley=texan.gif] gringo" friend here, fellas. [smiley=waitinforu.gif] ... [smiley=waitinforu.gif]

The way my team has performed this year, I really don't even deserve to be able to post anything on this board.  However, Francisco does need to watch his words.  With the emergence of the Jones'(Kevin and  Julius), my team is far from a cake walk.   I guess I am going to have to teach Gonzo a lesson.

?.?.? As you know, English is not my first language, so if "de facto" means " n: desperate little man trying to incite others against a far superior head coach" then I agree completely.

:) Warner, of course someone of your superior intelligence surmised that I was actually insinuating that my chances of getting a loss in the next couple of weeks is fair, but Steve's is greater.

[smiley=whistle.gif]Steg, make sure the little statue on the trophy has a number 18 on it, and that it's extra shiny when you hand it to me.

Right!!!  Why?  Because you think your schedule Weeks 15 and 16 versus Pak and Warner to be easier than mine! [smiley=tonguin.gif]

It's hard for me to trash-talk since I lost AGAIN this week, but.....hey.....what was that noise?

Was that the "SHOCKwave" heard round the world?  [smiley=rifle.gif]

Steve, be honest, how many times did you go over every excruciating detail in your stats vs Dave? 6? 12? Come on, really.

Live by the Patriots, die by the Patriots huh?  [smiley=patriot.gif]

The Magic Number is ONE pal, as in ONE win over you and it's over.

Who do you plan on starting this week?
I think everyone on your roster is taking the rest of the year off.

Enjoy New Year's Eve pal, because 2005 will definately be rung in by Peyton and Tom.

Knock, knock...  That's not a magic number anymore, not that it ever really was!

I think its really interesting that Trout was over .500 but his differential was way in the negative, while Warner was way below .500 but slightly in the positives.   ?.?.?

Does this mean our system is flawed in the sense that there is more luck involved here than in rotiserrie leagues?  There is definately more excitement and trash talking here, but this is interesting nonetheless.

That's the difference between "cumulative fantasy/performance points" (like the CBFL) versus "head-to-head" (it really has nothing to do with the "rotisserie" style set-up we have).  Actually, since it's head-to-head "points differential (vis-a-vis our rotisserie style system)", it is even less meaningful to think of it in terms of a "cumulative fantasy/performance points system" analysis.  Frankly speaking, comparing our "points differential (which is merely for second-level tie-break purposes only) to a league system totally based on "cumulative fantasy/performance points" is like comparing apples to oranges.
