Title: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by Skcus Redef 2 on May 10th, 2005, 6:26pm I am on the phone with Stegman as we speak. His hemmoroids are flaring and he asked me to post potential dates for the draft and meeting. He is going to be limited this year because of his move to HI. So, the dates he wants to throw out are: (all dates are Sat/Sun) July 30-31 Aug 6-7 MAYBE Aug 13-14 (getting dicey for his 'roids) If you would want Steve out there for the draft, then the earlier dates are the only ones that work. Please discuss and post thoughts. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 Post by StegRock on May 17th, 2005, 4:14pm Guys, With respect to (and hopefully for) ;) me and my HUGE "transitional situation" (yet again) ::) (but this one is TOTALLY triumphant) [smiley=victory.gif] on the horizon this August, we are probably looking at having the Summer Meeting & Draft VERY EARLY. Since DB is out July 30th, I am STRONGLY encouraging you all to free up Sunday, July 31st! August, the WHOLE month, is probably going to be a no-go for me, pretty much definitely a no-go if you guys want me there (possibly for the last time for a few years (although I usually find a way of trekking back somehow)). [smiley=awwgee.gif] PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND and work things out accordingly!!! Thank you. [smiley=bow.gif] - Steg [smiley=smileytrash.gif] |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 Post by Art Vandalay on May 17th, 2005, 9:32pm July works for me as long as I get 30 days in advance. I'm spending most of my life in California these days. August is fine too as long as I get notice. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 Post by StegRock on May 18th, 2005, 6:06pm Excellent, Steve! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] Thanks, bro! [smiley=bow.gif] Some general sentiments I would like add to this thread... Last year, because of the hurried conclusion, we did not pick team numbers, which determines our schedule and is usually one of the funner activities of the get-together. The spirit of this is that this is the ONE time per year we meet and we are there to relax, take in a swim, [smiley=drown.gif] etc., and it gives you guys a chance to get to know one another better. It is very important for me to keep this league "personable". That's actually the main point of it. We are also there to discuss league issues in thorough, and as we already know there are some biggies this year to discuss. These last two points are to be even more so emphasized this year given my imminent long-distance move. I was working in Korea, so I always had money to come back for the summer and I was single and, thus, free to do so. I am going to Hawaii as a student and a married man, so this really may be one of our last get-together meetings for years to come (at least with my making sure it happens). This makes the "get to know one another" aspect as well as the "hammering out of league rules" aspect of this year's meeting even more important. Please be understanding of this. It is just one latish night of 365 for each of us to deal with individually, but it is our ONE and ONLY time of the year to be together as a group, not to mention possibly our one and only time for a number of years to come. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 Post by StegRock on Jun 11th, 2005, 10:45pm I have spoken with D.T., D.O. and Joe. Sunday, July 31st is great for D.T. and D.O. They will be in attendance. Joe will be able to participate by phone. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 Post by DB on Jun 15th, 2005, 9:23pm When are cuts due? Given the early bird draft, I don't know if we need a full week do we? [smiley=options.gif] |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 Post by StegRock on Jun 15th, 2005, 10:36pm Yea,... but I like to have time to update the site for people to consult things before the draft day. I'll compromise just a bit. Let's say cuts are due Tuesday, July 26th by 11:59:59 p.m. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by Art Vandalay on Jul 6th, 2005, 8:17pm Boys, bad news. :'( I have to be in California from July 29 to August 5. I guess I'll be calling in too. Of course the venue is also an issue. Sorry. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 6th, 2005, 8:34pm I am also good to go July 24th or August 7th, the two adjacent Sundays. How about yous??? If we have to go on July 31st (which is fine by me), any venue suggestions/offers??? |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by Skcus Redef 2 on Jul 7th, 2005, 5:30pm So far all the dates mentioned in your last post, Steve, are still working for me. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by DirkDiggler on Jul 7th, 2005, 6:54pm July 31st works best for me. August 7th is a no go for me. July 24th is a strong maybe. In any case though, I would be available by phone if need be. As far as venue, the sports bar has worked in the past. Or if at all possible, something closer to Philly. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 10th, 2005, 2:05pm The following message was just sent out to yous by e-mail. I am posting it here also so as to cover all bases of communication. Fellas, Doug sent me the very thoughtful message attached below. He is open to making the 24th work, but he needs to know in a VERY timely manner (given preparations, so do I, for that matter). Fair enough, I think. SO, read Doug's message below and PLEASE RESPOND A.S.A.P. The only sticky situation I can see is DB. He is in the middle of his honeymoon right now. BUT, actually, the main person is FRANK. Frank, are you a go on the 24th and can it be hosted at the Gonzalez residence on that date? If the 24th is a no-go for Frank, then there is no reason to go changing dates. We'll stick with the 31st. Over and Out, and Thank You, Doug for being so thoughtful and flexible, Steg |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by Art Vandalay on Jul 11th, 2005, 10:02am The 24th will work. The rest of the Gonzalez clan has previous commitments so they will be MIA for most of the day thereby making the Residence a viable option. Sorry again for the last minute scramble. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by DirkDiggler on Jul 11th, 2005, 10:26am July 24th will work for me as long as I know VERY soon....... Again, I do request we start earlier. That way I can enjoy the day, not be in a rush, yet still take the time to get home at a reasonable hour. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 11th, 2005, 11:52am I have spoken with both Rob Pak and Joe Parsons. For both of them, the 24th is actually better than the 31st. Joe might even be able to attend if we have it on the 24th. Pak, however, indicated that like Steve and Doug he would like to know A.S.A.P. Guys, there is a SMALL problem with that that I have indicated a number of times now, though. DB is on his honeymoon in Italy. I have sent him the e-mails and even left a message on his cell. I am sure he is not checking any of his messages, though. So, all this is going on unbeknownst to him. For all we know, July 24th is a no-go for him. I am guesstimating that he will be back on Thursday or Friday. So, I guess, bottom line, if Friday is not "soon enough" for you, declare yourself out for the 24th and we'll just stick with the 31st. [smiley=shrug.gif] There is nothing that can be done and we can't blame DB. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by Skcus Redef 2 on Jul 11th, 2005, 2:06pm I can go on the 24th - the only thing for me is I will be coming back from a quick getaway Sunday. Is there a guess on starting time? It usually seems that 1ish EST is usually the kick-off. If that's the case, I will just have to set up a calling system using my cell phone for a little while - no big deal. |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 11th, 2005, 11:47pm Oh, brother! This is getting to be a lot of work... I received a message from Trout today. The 24th can work for him, but there is a good chance he WON'T be able to attend. He did say, however, not to adjust for him. He can do it by phone if need be. Bottom line, he really won't know if he can attend or not until like the 22nd. So, I suppose his response, in brief, is go with the 24th if that's where the current seems to be headed. But, we have to consider... Aren't we starting to defeat the purpose? [smiley=shrug.gif] |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 12th, 2005, 2:31am Well,... how the pendulum swings... The 24th just got a huge, timely shot in the arm. DB e-mailed me while on his honeymoon. Two thumbs up, dude! [smiley=twothumbsup.gif] ... [smiley=bow.gif] (That's Rob Pak bowin' to ya.) [smiley=laugh.gif][smiley=hellyeafunny.gif][smiley=LMFAO.gif][smiley=sinister.gif][smiley=rollinwithlaughter.gif] (I forwarded this e-mail to everybody.) He indicated that he is good to go on the 24th. So, as it stands right now, we have two definite no-shows (Frank and Joe) on July 31st versus one possible no-show (DT) and another possible appearance (Joe) on July 24th. Looks like the 24th is gonna get the knod [smiley=yes.gif] (no, not the vertical bob, [smiley=gettinridden.gif] you homos). I'll make the "official" announcement tomorrow,... eh-hem,... later today. P.S. (Dr. Danny is still looking for his hole in the ground... which (he fears) he can't tell his ass... about... Or, was that "from"?) ?.?.? ... Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 12th, 2005, 7:08pm Well, DT said to go ahead with the 24th. He's going to do his best to attend. SO, Sunday, July 24th it is... at Frank's house in Toms River!!! Address to "mapquest" will be sent by e-mail. If it's okay with Frank, let's plan for a HIGH NOON start time so as to give ourselves as long of a day together as possible. ... Make sure to bring your swim trunks and be prepared to get taken out in a little pool basketball!!! [smiley=drown.gif] ... Given our new date for the meeting, CUTS WILL BE DUE BY 11:59:59 p.m. ON TUESDAY, JULY 19TH, i.e. ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!! So, yous have exactly one week to cut deals before making cuts! [smiley=deal.gif] |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 13th, 2005, 1:06pm Just got word from Trout... He is good to go to attend on the 24th. Looks like we might have EIGHT GBRFL dudes in attendance. Joe, are you too paving the way to show up, bro? |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 21st, 2005, 6:11pm Guys, I just spoke with Frank this afternoon. He suggested that instead of ordering food if everybody could promise him $10 to $20, which is about what each of us spends anyway for grub for ourselves, he'd go ahead and buy steaks and stuff for barbequing ahead of time, which I agree would be preferable. Having a barbeque is way cooler than ordering out. Come on! ... So, who's in? |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by DirkDiggler on Jul 21st, 2005, 8:07pm I am all up for a bar-b-que. Is there anything I need to bring? I can stop and pick something up if need be. And since I don't have a 1st or second round pick, I can be chef as well....... |

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by DB on Jul 22nd, 2005, 3:03pm Yeah, bbq is great. But I can't want to school all you chumps in pool bball once again. Quote:

Title: Re: SUMMER MEETING & DRAFT 2005 & CUT-DOWN DATE Post by StegRock on Jul 25th, 2005, 8:17am Thanks for the love, Stevo! Yet again, it was a fantastic time. Having it at Frank's has been a real boon for the last couple years. The location is great; the camaraderie is great, and the eats were especially great this year. Just as a quick reminder to DT, [smiley=boobies.gif] DB [smiley=hooters.gif] and Kid Gonzo [smiley=cheerleader.gif] from Big Gonzo, [smiley=tough.gif] Pakman [smiley=numchuk.gif] and Steg, [smiley=chicken.gif] final score: FCC 14 [smiley=trophy.gif] - JCC 12. Steg was like [smiley=drown.gif], though. :-[ You guys who left early missed the Steg here crampin' up pool-style and flappin' and flounderin' around like a hooked trout. [smiley=fish.gif] ... And, speakin' of "hookin'" and "Trouts",... hows 'bout those clothes lines and claws the big DT was wieldin'? [smiley=Freddie.gif] Anyway, with or without me in the immediately ensuing years, I hope you guys can still "get (it) together". Even if it is a case where I won't be attending, a very good likelihood, I will still help to facilitate you all's getting together next year. [smiley=phone.gif] ... [smiley=steg.gif] |
