Title: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by StegRock on Apr 30th, 2006, 6:35pm Just want to preface that this is NOT to be considered the "Offical '06 Offseason Transactions" thread. That will commence once an offseason trade has been cut. This is just a thread on which on which to throw things out there and conduct trade talks. ... So, with that now out of the way, I just want to throw this bone out there for you mangy mongrels to chew on... As school begins to lighten up and I start to ponder things, I think there is a chance that I could be negotiated into moving my second-round draft pick, likely to be the 11th overall pick, and a protection spot to move up into the top six. Any less than that I do not think would be justifiable. Anyway, just letting yous know that this is where you can at least start negotiations with me... |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by StegRock on May 19th, 2006, 5:16pm Hey, Markie,... if you give me LaDainian Tomlinson, Mark Brunell and your #8 pick in the first round for Warrick Dunn and Jake Plummer, not entirely unreasonable, I'll donate $1,000 to Katrina victims. Whatchya think? It's only fantasy football... ;) |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by Drew Rosenhaus on May 26th, 2006, 5:16pm Sorry it's taken so long to reply to this one - I was wondering what you were referencing. Anyway, about the deal - I'm going to have to pass at this point. Not because I don't like the deal and not because I don't want to help the victims of Katrina, more because Brunell wears #8 and, well, you know from my Mojo and the number post, 8 is what it is all about. But now that I think about it and since you have made the offer, you should give the money, anyway. That way you won't feel like ethical lines have been crossed. You may want to put it in Jake's name. ;) |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by StegRock on May 26th, 2006, 7:53pm No... I'm sorry I can't. You are... [smiley=grinch.gif] It was contingent on the deal,... a measly fantasy football trade at that. If I just wanted to give from the good of heart, I just would have... ;) There is no need to connect philanthropy to,... well,... anything. Isn't that kind of a necessary part of the definitions/notions of philanthropy and altruism? [smiley=stilldunno.gif] ... [smiley=dunce.gif] |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by Drew Rosenhaus on May 27th, 2006, 12:28am Just remember, Little Grasshopper, philanthropy and philosophy grow off of the same vine. There is reasoning and reason behind both of them... [smiley=thinking.gif] |

There is season and seasoning behind both of them... ... So, how's about I throw in Isaac Bruce to get this deal done...??? [smiley=cantcatch.gif] |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by DirkDiggler on Jun 3rd, 2006, 5:01pm QB's - Aaron Brooks, Chad Pennington, Philip Rivers, Marc Bulger, Matt Schaub, Brad Johnson, Kelly Holcomb, Josh McCown RB's - Deuce McAllister, Kevan Barlow, Julius Jones, Jamal Lewis, Chester Taylor, Clinton Portis, Frank Gore, Curtis Martin I have 5 starting QBs, 1 future stud in Schaub, and 2 potential starters in McCown and Holcomb. Both are currently in first in the qb battle. I have 7 starting RBs. Considering there are only 30 in the league, I am the man to call if you need a starter. Need something? Need a QB or RB? Call me!!! |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by StegRock on Jul 3rd, 2006, 5:29pm Fellas, I might be willing to move two protection spots for a high/mid 1st round pick, somewhere in the range of picks (lottery) 1, or more reasonably speaking, 4 through 7 (much later than that and we are approaching the value of one protection spot, NOT two). So, to address you specifically, Stevo, (though I don't know exactly what picks you have) a deal like this would allow you to keep two more of that litany of players you have worked so hard at accumulating. You're basically in a position to pull an old Steggie special move. This is what I used to do all the time and plan to be in a position to do again (in the not far-off future ;)). |

Title: Re: '06 Offseason Trade TALKS Post by DOLFAN on Sep 2nd, 2006, 1:02am I am looking to move up in the draft in the first round. I have the 1.10 pick plus other picks this year. Or I could offer the 1.10 and a (pick or pro spot next year). |
