Fellas, I know that with the draft it is the later, the better. HOWEVER, the single circumstance that, I think, trumps/should trump that is a STRONG possibility this year, that is GETTING TOGETHER for the draft!!! I will be visiting mom in good old N.J. from Tuesday, August 5th to Thursday, August 21st. That gives us two weekends, the weekend of the 9th/10th and the 16th/17th. I would also be available during the week, and I'm thinkin' that we may be big enough boys at this point to, perhaps, be able to pull it off during the week. In any event, PLEASE, guys, Markie and Danny included, take a page out of old Steggie's book and try to think OUTSIDE THE BOX here... That's the only way to live (the one) life (you got). As the saying goes, "Just do it!" All the obstacles are really just apparent. I know I look forward to seeing all yous,... seeing how you've grown,... professionally and with all your budding families... Making and maintaining those connections is what life is all about. Anyway, let's commence the discussion, and see what date we can come up with. As far as I am concerned, I am available either of those aforementioned weekends...

By the way, any help you all who visit this thread in the early going can give me getting the word out that it's here and the discussion about this year's draft date has begun would be VERY helpful and MUCH appreciated. [smiley=yes.gif]

It appears I am relatively available during the dates that you are available Steve. The only constraints I have are between Tuesday the 19th on..... but it SEEMS I am available both weekends!!! (and all the days BEFORE the 19th.....

I thought with the draft it is usually the later, the better. Anyway, I am good to go either of those weekends. I could swing a weekday too I suppose.

I cannot do it on August 16th. I will be out of town. Any other day is fine with me. I could probably do a weekday as well, but may not be able to physically attend.

I am open for either of those weekends. I could hook a ride with Warner like in the past. It would be tough for me during the week.

If we did it on a weekend I would be open to hitting Dave and Busters again [smiley=alcoholic.gif], or maybe we should just go to Atlantic City and hit a Casino, LOL.

I'm glad to see this moving along. If we could only get the rest of the league to give some input.

Unfortunately, physically at the draft is out for me but on the phone should not be a problem. Because of this, I am more than happy to work with whatever date works best for those able to get together.

Fellas, since those of you who have been kind enough to get on this have expressed little in the way of conflicts with the dates proposed, I'm just going to at this point declare the 2008 GBRFL Summer Meeting and Draft date and time to be Sunday, August 17th starting at 1:00 (EST) in the afternoon.

Now that that is anticipatively settled, all we have to do is decide on a place. Frank has yet to post, so I don't know what he is thinking. I know DB has offered in the past. Trout...??? We could do the restaurant thing again. Let's try to get some... [smiley=phone.gif] in to Frank and Trout so as to hasten this along. I really could use some help with making those phone calls as Gino and I are really revving up into high gear with exactly one month left in Hawaii. If anyone does speak to any of the people who haven't posted here yet, try to pin them down with some pointed questions and then please post their responses here (just in case they do not do so themselves). Thanks, fellas!

Has anyone called Frank or Trout? I don't want to call if everyone else has. They are probably on some sort of gay romantic get-a-way together. :o Feder is probably there too. :-/

Anyway, if Frank is not up for hosting, I suggest a restaurant/sportsbar. While I have offered my place in the past, and I would again, I don't think it would be ideal. First of all, I am about 1.5 hours north of Frank, which would not be good for y'all southerners. Second, while my place a few years back in Hoboken was pretty sweet and near a bunch of places to go out, I now live in the suburbs and don't have the nice pool area that Frank has. Any thoughts?

Sorry kids. I'm not in football mode yet this year so I haven't been to the site since I got screwed out of my championship yet again.

I'm always willing to host you fine upstanding gentlemen. The pool is warm and the beers are cold. I've even upgraded the house to include a game room of sorts, eqipped with two TVs, Xbox360, Ps2 and Wii. All of those are equipped with Madden for you die hards. Oh, there's also an outdoor golf simulator now too, so bring your clubs.

Any of those weekends will work for me as well.

I'm up for any other suggestions for a location as well.

What time will the draft be?

We know that Steg will be late as usual, haha,
I would like to get started around 12:00/noon. It takes Warner and I about 4 hours to get up there.

We could start around 1 pm, at the latest maybe.
