Title: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by StegRock on Feb 28th, 2009, 4:52am It's time for the old [smiley=wiseman.gif] Stegger to start gettin' back to his tried-and-true ways of old,... workin' [smiley=phone.gif] those high-risk, http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/YaBBImages/game.gif high-reward [smiley=greedy.gif] early offseason (pre-NFL Draft) trades! With offseason free-agency having just kicked off, I feel like I have some "intriguing" guys based on their respective circumstances. Quickly, though, off the top, let me say that the following guys are not really on my trading block and would be inordinately difficult to get off me based on the makeup of my roster (but, of course, I never say, "Never."): QB's Ben Roethlisberger and Chad Pennington; RB's Ryan Grant and Cedric Benson; WR Anthony Gonzalez. So, with that said, here are the goodies I feel I have to offer... at a reasonable price: QB's - Shaun Hill, Byron Leftwich, Michael Vick (who will be out of prison in May) RB's - Derrick Ward, J. J. Arrington (now of the Denver Broncos), (maybe) LaMont Jordan RC's - Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, Bernard Berrian, Deion Branch [who actually, to my (pleasant) surprise, turned it on after returning from injury at the end of last season] Let's talk... Which one of you skirts [smiley=cheerleader.gif] has got the ganolies -> [smiley=dick.jpg] to step up to the plate first? [smiley=waitinforu.gif] ... [smiley=cantcatch.gif] |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DOLFAN on Feb 28th, 2009, 5:09pm I too have players that I am looking to trade. Although I don't have the Juggernauts available that Steg does I have some interesting guy too. QB: Culpepper. just a filler guy. ..Cassell, great upside, but pricey, as in I don't want a 2nd rounder and Keyshawn for him. Rbs: Tashard Choice, Felix Jones( I want what I gave up for him last year...a 1st rounder, Larry Johnson, Pierre Thomas (he is a starter)...I see him have better stats than last year and with 11 Tds don't low ball and consider him a mid #2 RB. WRs: Lance Moore, Kevin Walter, Holt. I am looking to move up in the first round..top 5 if possible. I have the 1.9 to move up from. I will even do a combo deal. I am looking for a better #2 QB and a better #2 WR. I can't do upside down deals where I get 2 players for 1, But I can give 2 for 1. As i stand right now I need 2 pro spots. I gave up 1 last year for LT2. Send me some ideas. Oh yeah I don't want any players over 31-32, so Harrison and Fred Taylor are not options. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by StegRock on Mar 8th, 2009, 4:24am Update on where I perceive myself presently standing based on signings that have or have not taken place since my last post... While I am, as you guys know, always open to bigger deals, I think I am presently more so in the market for a smaller one or two, which, if you can swing it, could amount to an excellent deal for you. I am willing to move any of the following for a protection spot or a reasonably commensurate draft pick; I am listing them in order of their value (to me, at least): Shaun Hill, Bernard Berrian, Ricky Williams, Byron Leftwich, J.J. Arrington, Deion Branch, Michael Vick. I am looking to deal, so BRING IT ON! Hit the horn... [smiley=phone.gif] Let's do this... |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by StegRock on Apr 12th, 2009, 11:13pm [offtopic]Well, now that Leftwich is signed, I expect Joe to approach me about the guy, perhaps even offer me a 5th-rounder, or, at least, that would fit his usual hack m.o. [smiley=rollinwithlaughter.gif] Actually, no, the situation is still too unclear for him. He'll have no interest until he has "secured" the starting gig in Tampa and his value is fastened,... when, reality is, it becomes hard to move him precisely because his value is fastened. Thing is, fantasy football is about... [smiley=crystalball.gif] and rolling the... http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/YaBBImages/game.gifhttp://www.fantasyfootballer.com/YaBBImages/game.gif and not about trying to force deals about so-called "sure things" through.[/offtopic] |

I am fairly depleted of other commodoties (draft picks and protection spots and such)... If you want to go in this direction, who on my roster would you like in exchange for him (I'm thinking a commensurately valued QB)? [smiley=stilldunno.gif] |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DB on May 18th, 2009, 3:38pm If anyone is interested in anything other than #5 running backs and #6 receivers, I have a certain soon-to-be-unretired future hall of fame QB available on the (relatively) cheap. While Mr. Favre wasn't exactly all that with the Jets, on the Vikings, he is at probably a decent #2. I just don't feel like reading all these stories about his "comeback" this time. Looking for draft pick or protection spot. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DB on Jun 4th, 2009, 5:21pm Make me an offer for Derek Anderson. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4231169 I'm not saying he's any good, but he was excellent not too long ago and then was hurt. He may very well start! |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by Art Vandalay on Jun 4th, 2009, 5:54pm Make me an offer for Peyton Manning. I'm pretty sure he IS good and he's on the trade block. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DirkDiggler on Jul 31st, 2009, 8:14pm I am still looking to make a deal, whether trading a player for a pick, a 2-for-1 deal, or maybe adding a protection spot. Bulger, Houshmanzadeh, Coles, Plaxico are all players that could be had. Jerious Norwood is not on my protection list, so he too can be had at a lower rate. Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DOLFAN on Aug 5th, 2009, 3:47am DB your 2nd is the 2.10 pick. I am looking to move up into the 2nd round from my 3.1 spot....DB already turned me down a couple of weeks ago, so I know he isn't interested. I will offer the 3.1 and another 3rd(3.10) this year OR the 3.1 this year and a 3rd next year(I have 3rd rounders next year in 2010 draft)Mine, Steg's and DB's. Since my team should suck again this year it will be a solid pick...for a 3rd rounder anyways. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DB on Aug 5th, 2009, 5:36pm Thank you for pointing out that I have the 2.10 pick, Joe. I presume that is some type of public service announcement so that I don't dupe anyone into trading me their protection spot for such a low pick. I am pretty sure we didn't talk a few weeks ago (more like 4 months ago) and I am damn sure you didn't offer me your 3.1 and 3.10 for my 2.10. But if that is the case now, then I gladly accept. Are we putting this through? |

M. Bush is like Christian Laettner on the '92 Dream Team. Seriously though, if anyone is looking to trade a protection spot instead of keeping someone you can get back in the 6th round (M. Bush, B. Engram, etc.), I am still offering my second round pick. Alternatively, I am cutting Derrick Anderson (who may start in Cleveland) and Brett Favre (who we all know is coming back at some point) if anyone has any interest, although I admit those guys are not worth much more than the other scrubs I mentioned, but I think they have more upside at this point. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DOLFAN on Aug 10th, 2009, 1:08am Don't worry Danny. Wait til the season starts. I will a guy week 1 for sure. I am looking to move up in the 1st round I have the 1.9 and would like to move into the top 5. I also am looking for a solid #2 WR or even pay A LOT and get a weak #1 WR. Send me any ideas. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by StegRock on Aug 12th, 2009, 12:05pm [offtopic]Yous know... It's funny... While I do NOT agree with Joe's position on Henne, I DO agree with its unintentional potential conclusion... If you really think this through, [smiley=thinking.gif] insofar as Joe's argument that Chad Henne is worth an early first-round draft pick is cogent and persuasive, yet out-loud laughable, it stands not so much as an endorsement of Henne as an indictment of the draft. Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DirkDiggler on Aug 12th, 2009, 1:26pm I am looking for a TOP WR (not over the age of 30) as well. I have RB and QB to be had. While I do not have picks for this year, I have picks next year that I would be willing to move. |

Title: Re: 2009 Offseason Trade Talk Thread Post by DOLFAN on Aug 12th, 2009, 8:54pm Just to be clear about Steg's above post. I am looking for teh 1.5 or 1.6, more in the mid-range, not so much an "early" pick. I agree with Steg that my thoughts are based more on the weak draft class this year, that are where the top Qbs landed. Either way, Henne and the many Draft picks are available for me to move up in the draft. |
