Title: QBBC
Post by bgsgfan on Sep 14th, 2002, 2:59am
Wade Iuele has a great series of articles on QBBC over at Komments.com.  It is, of course, too late to use this idea in drafting, but many of the principles are applicable to those of us stuck with 2 or more lower tier QBs.  One interesting thing noted in his research is that QB Rating allowed is a better predictor of FF points allowed than FF points allowed is.  :o Anyhow here is the link to his latest article.  http://www.komments.com/articles/02wi09.shtml

That qb rating allowed looks very promising indeed. Thanks for the link.

Kudos to bgsgfan.  Very nice site.  Looks like some solid research and useful info there.  Thanks!   [smiley=smileythumbsup.gif] [smiley=headbanger.gif]

I've been a hot and cold Fan of Wade's ever since he developed the AVT system of Drafting with Chris Annunziata.

Not sure I ever really bought into thier altered system of VBD, but it made me think some.

Wade is a good source of info, nice to see him working with/for Greg Kellog this season.

For the record: I see AVT as a great tool for checking reasonableness of my projections.  I use the maxs and mins of the previous 5 years and make sure I am within range.

I guess the main problem I have with straight AVT is that it presumes you can make accurate rankings of players.  I am in seven different leagues this year with 6 different scoring systems.  Based on the scoring system, I had 3 different #1 ranked QBs! (Garcia in a heavy INT penalized league, Culpepper in a heav passing discounted league, and of course Warner).

Add in that I ENJOY projecting player stats and I am firmly set in using AVT as a reasonableness tool only.
