Title: Fear and panic
Post by Venom on Sep 17th, 2002, 6:38pm
Fear: Drafting Fred Taylor in the third round, and enjoying the value with back to back productive weeks. When does he get hurt?

Panic: What owners of Alexander, Owens, Garcia, and several Rams may be feeling at this point.

Is this a prime case of sell high/ buy low? Does one (OK, me  ;)) trade the fragile one for the likes of Owens or Alexander? Owens has a better schedule but runners are more valued and his tackle is back in the fold. What is the distance between solid outings by these two versus a healthy-all-year-long Taylor? What would other intelligent ffootballers do in this situation?

Well I would almost bet you ( notice how I said ALMOST ) that Freddy will NOT get hurt this weekend........ unless of course he's picking his nose and scratches his brain or something.
Ugley I am not 1 bit impressed with Warrick, and never have been, I like Driver, he has the most exp. with Favre, the coaches even said over the winter that he was ready ( and seems to be), but not 100% sure he will start all year. I believe that Javon will sometime during the year be a starter, just whether he takes over for Glenn being hurt ( I'm from MA.  trust me he will miss time ) or he takes over for Driver. My guess is that Glenn will get hurt. Or they will just have to find a way to get him on the field.

Granted on Warrick(he was one of three picks I let my rookie partner make).  The thing I like about Driver, according to "informed sources" is he plays slot and wide out.  Should keep him on the field.  The velocity
Favre puts on the ball will eventually break one of Ms. Glenns nails and she will e on I>R. for the season. ;).
Should the Bangles ever right the ship Chad Johnson may emerge as a decent wr.     As to trading fragile :), I mean Fred, do you have Mack?  If so trading for Owens may pay double dividends.  For now I am glad he was drafted before I was willing to take a chance on him and settled for McAllister.
