Well, the Texans looked like a true expansion team this past week, especially on offense. That was partially due to their expansion-nature, but more due to the dominance of the San Diego defense. The Colts do not have such a dominating defense, so I expect a better performance this week, although not noteworthy. The home field advantage is HUGE for the Texans as well, so I look for their defense to perform exceptionally well against the Indy powerhouse offense.

Quarterbacks

Carr was absolutely inept last week, passing for less than 100 yards, no scores and 2 INTs. To give him credit, it is hard to pass when you are on your back and have a 300+ pound lineman on you nine times during the game. I expect to him to fare better against a much less sophisticated Colt secondary, but not to an extent to where fantasy owners would consider starting him. Look for a couple of long bombs to connect to give Carr his points...otherwise, it's going to be another long day for this rookie...I would expect at least another five sacks this week.

David Carr - 160 yards passing, 1 TD, 1 INT; 30 yards rushing, 0 TD

Runningbacks

James Allen saw the majority of the playing time last week, and has really emerged as the main rushing threat in Houston. Johnathan Wells is taking on more of a Mike Alstott role in Houston, so you really can't rule him out yet. Allen should see much more running room against a Colt defensive line that is giving up 140 yards rushing per game, and is a good shot to break off a 30+ yard run this week. If you are in a deep league, Allen might be worth a start at your #2 or flex position this week.

Jonathan Wells - 20 yards rushing, 0 TD, 10 yards receiving, 0 TD

Wide Receivers

It is obvious that the short passing game of the Texans does NOT exist. Bad for leagues that give you a point per reception, good for leagues that give you extra points for long TD's. I expect that Carr will try a few long bombs this week, and if a couple of those connect that will be the extent of the Houston passing game. I really don't recommend starting any Texan WR if you aren't in a deep league, but you COULD gamble that one of those bombs connects.

Corey Bradford - 3 receptions, 70 yards, 1 TD

Jabar Gaffney - 2 receptions, 30 yards, 0 TD

Jermaine Lewis - 1 reception, 20 yards, 0 TD

If you are going to start any Texans, this might be the week to do so. But again, I would do so at your own risk!

I'm looking for Indy's offense to easily outproduce the Texans offense, so Indy gets the nod...Colts 27, Texans 13

Seriously, this game is going to be alot closer than anyone will believe.

Colts 21, Texans 20

Indy is not a good team right now, they desperatly need Marcus Pollard back. Carr is going to have a long day though.

Well, the Texans performed poorer than I expected this week. The Colts won 23-3, which isn't too far off how I expected the game to go.

David Carr - 99 yards passing, 0 TD, 1 INT; 17 yards rushing, 0 TD

None of the long bombs connected in this game, so Carr's stats didn't match I what I expected.

James Allen - 27 yards rushing, 0 TD, 25 yards receiving, 0 TD

Jonathan Wells - 93 yards rushing, 0 TD, 14 yards receiving, 0 TD

Overall, the Houston rushing attack is what I expected. The big story here is that with one of Wells' first carries, he broke off a 37 yard run. Capers decided to go with the hot hand for the rest of the game, which shifted the yards from Allen to Wells. It looks like we're back to RBBC from here out (especially since Allen looked pretty good on the drives that he did play).

Corey Bradford - 1 reception, 6 yards, 0 TD

Jabar Gaffney - 2 receptions, 8 yards, 0 TD

Jermaine Lewis got hurt, so JaJuan Dawson (recently picked up from the Browns) played - 3 receptions, 32 yards, 0 TD

Overall, I overpredicted the Texans' wideout performance this week, expecting at least one bomb to connect. The short passing game is still non-existant, so that does not bode well on the stability of their production week in-week out.
