KC Chiefs Report, week 5, at NY Jets

QB

Trent or Tr"int", who shows up this week? Obviously coming off a career game. But I've always subscribed to the notion they call 'em a "career" game for a reason. Facing one of if not the worst defenses against the run, the passing game will be much more modest.
It may well be a game with a shootout score, but the KC running game gets the big stats this week.

RB

Priest Holmes. Never bench category player. Especially when the Jets run defense is the main course. The Jets lowest rushing yards allowed thru 4 games? 149! To Buffalo. New England? a paltry 162 yds. Miami, Jacksonville? 188 and 212 respectively! Throw in the TEN rushing td's they've allowed and I think KC's gameplan becomes quite clear. Expect even Tony Richardson to get some good yards and a score.

WR

Johnnie Morton
Eddie Kennison

As I really only see about 220 - 250 +/- passing yards in this game for the Chiefs, not gonna be a whole lot of them left after Priest/Richardson and Gonzalez get their combined 110 - 120. Probably better options elswhere this week.

TE

Tony G - The teams only other must start player. While not as glaring as there running defense woes, the Jets have given up the 8th most points to tight ends. Give Tony his 40 to 50 and a score.

K

Morten Anderson - Very pleasant surprise. If he's still available in your league, grab him. This week expect another very good week. 100% on the season including an impressive 5 for 5 in the 30 - 39 range, 1 of 1 from 50+ Jets have allowed 10 field goal attempt and 16 extra points. Once again, near the bottom of the league.

Crap! Now I gotta talk about something that just plain sucks. Nope not gonna do it! If your using Kansas City's def at this point in the season, no info from me is gonna be able to save your season.

Why are you expecting Richardson to get so many yards? A long breakthrough run? Spelling Holmes when the game gets out of hand?

They tend to give T Rich a few plays every game. It's been down a little this year and I think a game like this is one where they'll up his load a little. Nothing official, just the match up and how they've used him in the past.

btw...nothing personal against the jets. But they are the running defense equivelant of the chiefs pass d. And that means fantsy gold [smiley=smileythumbsup.gif]

Not to teribly bad. The game did not unfold quite like I thought at all.
Gonzo & TRich were bad recommendations, sorry.

Green, pretty close.

Priest, Total point wise, hopefully his additional yardage made up for only 2 td not 3. More hopefully, you don't need my recomendation to decide bench/start status for the Padre.

Kennison/Morton - got lucky and pretty much nailed these two (45 for Kennison, Morton 56)

Anderson, 11 points is 11 points, the 'ol crystal bong, err, ball , just got the mix a little crazy.
