WEEK 6

"Red Zone Players of the Week" are simply to be ONE player from each of the FIVE skill positions, QB, RB, TE, WR, PK. Just list ONE for each position, no stats projections necessary. Let's keep it simple for the newbies! Also, I do not always want to be "the first" guy posting on these type things. So, I would like someone else to chime in first. I will give the basic template/pattern I want you to use. Again, PLEASE follow it closely for the newbies. THANKS!

Here is the pattern to follow (cut and paste it if need be):

QB - ...
RB - ...
WR - ...
TE - ...
PK - ...

(Of course, the addition of SMILIES is always cool! [smiley=beatnik.gif] )

QB - [smiley=zenmaster.gif] (No one can read a defense like the Zen Master.)

RB - [smiley=dancin.gif] (Dancin' has all the moves to put up huge numbers at RB.)

WR - [smiley=havinablast.gif] (Jumpin from Joy will use his outstanding leaping ability to grab a couple TDs in the endzone on Sunday.)

TE - [smiley=swollenhead.gif] (Has the size to man-handle some DBs.)

K - [smiley=lickmyass.gif] (Lick my Ass is angry this week and now wants to be known as Kick your Ass.)

There ya go. Lots of smilies for the Red Zone in Week 6. *wink*

I know this is "the Red Zone", but I just can't help myself...

QB - [smiley=spstan.gif] (looked good in that episode where he played quarterback for South Park Elementary)

RB - [smiley=spkenny.gif] (I know... I know... for obvious reasons you probably thought I would go with "Chef," but when you spend so much time running from "Death," you gotta' have skills, baby)

WR - [smiley=spchef.gif] (gotta go with the brother)

TE - [smiley=spcartman.gif] (size, feistiness, creativity... has adequate physical tools but, moreover, the intangibles to get open down the middle of the field and make the BIG play)

PK - [smiley=spkyle.gif] (seems to be even-tempered, a good quality for an NFL-caliber place-kicker)

Okay... okay... I will give my "REAL" ones later in the week!

QB - Culpepper (Lions defense is an oxymoron.) [smiley=tonguin.gif]

RB - Tomlinson (Should find plenty of holes in the KC line.) [smiley=victory.gif]

WR - Randy Moss (Not an oxymoron, just a moron, but I own him anyway...) [smiley=nervous.gif]

TE - Ricks (Minnesota defense, see comment about Lions above.) [smiley=smileytrash.gif]

K - Cundiff (Low scoring kickers' battle is looming.) [smiley=mywhippinboy.gif]

QB - Brian Griese - Miami's defense is pretty good vs run, not so good vs pass

RB - is Ray lewis out? If so, gotta go with Edge, if not Garner is looking great this year and going against a weak StLouis run D.

WR- Curtis Conway - may be the best pick of the week. KC pass D is far and away the worst in the league, and Conway is doing pretty good this year.

TE - what a great year for TEs! - going with Heap this week, I love his ability.

K- Peterson - I still believe in the Black and Gold!

Steggie here has hopefully successfully repaired that crack in his crystal ball... Without further ado...

QB - Trent Green (will light it up against a banged-up San Diego secondary, which is their weak point, anyway)
RB - Travis Henry (goin' against Houston)
WR - Jimmy Smith (goin' against Tennessee... due to score)
TE - Shannon Sharpe (Griese and Sharpe will be looking to change that "fact" that Sharpe has yet to catch a TD from Griese ever, which was pointed out in an article in the Denver Post this past week... moreover, Sharpe as the TE will be relied upon to open things up down the middle against a generally tough Miami D, which sports a solid line and set of linebackers and cornerbacks)
PK - Mike Vanderjagt (his bye-week has passed)

QB Rich Gannon Last week Garcia completed 70% of his passes against the Rams. The Rams on average are giving up 225 yards per game, and are 15th over the last four weeks, allowing 231. Gannon is #5 among QBs in scoring this year, but take into account that the top 4 QBs have all played 5 games, with Gannon only playing 4 games so far. Add to that that the Ram's top cover corner, Aeneas Williams, is Questionable with a bad toe, and the Rams can't replace a player of his caliber. Bottom line, Gannon is going to go off.

RB Duece McCalister Duece is currently #5 on the RB list for scoring Fantasy Points, and is coming off a strong game against the Steelers (23 rushes for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns, with 2 receptions for 20 yards). He's playing Washington who is ranked 27th in the league on the season, with 137 yards per game allowed on average. Over the last four weeks they are at 30th, allowing 160 yards per game, and rank at 22nd in the league in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs.

WR Jimmy Smith The Titans are banged up and their secondary is abysmal as a result. The statistics: on the season the Titans rank 29th in the NFL allowing 290 yards per game, over the last four weeks that number has gone up to 310 yards per game (although they now rank 28th in the league). They rank 30th vs. opposing fantasy quarterbacks, 32nd vs. opposing wide receivers. YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT INJURIES? Don't look farther than the Titans Defense Titans' CB Samari Rolle is playing lame with a hamstring injury because his back-up, Mike Echols, is out with stress fractures in his left leg. Now the pass rush is going to suffer against the Jaguars, too, because DE Jevon Kearse is out, and his replacement Carlos Hall had an MRI on his injured knee on Monday. It revealed torn cartilage in the knee that requires surgery in order to repair the damage. Bruenell and Smith are going to be big this Sunday.

TE Randy McMichael This should be a no brainer Jay Fiedler is finally emerging from Dan Marino's shadow in Miami, and making a name for himself. Currently the 7th ranked fantasy football scorer at quarterback. This week he is facing another crucial AFC opponent in prime-time, at Mile High stadium in Denver. Denver's secondary is actually in the second tier of NFL pass defenses, ranked 18th in the league on the season allowing 238 yards per game. Here is the stat that should make you take notice: Miami is ranked 29th in the league at giving up TE scores to the opposing team

Kicker - Who knows? I don't predict Kickers

Defense - Who knows? I don't predict Defenses
