Title: Let's Talk Cris Carter!
Post by StegRock on Oct 20th, 2002, 5:26am
Looks like Cris Carter is on his way back to the NFL afterall.  Here is the meat on the issue from ALL the dailies covering the Dolphins locally hot off "the Gridiron Newsstand":

So, how do you guys think he does?  I, for one, actually, think he will post solid numbers once he gets in the groove, which I think will only take one game, perhaps two.  The Dolphin receiving corps is very beat up right now.  I think Carter capitalizes.  Over, in essence, what will amount to a half-season span, I think he will go for 525 yards and 5 touchdowns. [smiley=ohshit.gif] He will also serve as an outstanding mentor to Chris Chambers, who plays a similarish style game.  For BOTH of those reasons, contrary to current speculation, I think at season's end Miami will be VERY tempted to bring him back.  What do ya'll think?

WOW!  That's some huge news.  I think he could be VERY productive in the Miami offense.  Ricky carries the load and would take some of the pressure off of an elderly Carter.  "All he does is catch touchdowns!"  I'd be quite tempted to add him to my receiving arsenal.

Two words...Ray Lucas.

Even BEFORE this week, I was telling people that Ray Lucas in the Miami offense is going to be awful.  He never did anything with the J-E-T-S, and he showed up there that he is all athleticism and no brains.  He is easy to read and does not have the ability to check off to the second or third WR.  A poor man's Shaun King, I tell ya...

Looking ahead just for fun at this point. But, oh, what fun this could be!

Proudly plagurized from kffl

the ease of schedule has the potential to allow Dolphin WRs increase their weekly production by as much as 43 percent per game.

Wk 8: BYE
Wk 9: at Green Bay Packers - No. 18
Wk 10: at New York Jets - No. 9
Wk 11: Baltimore Ravens - No. 28
Wk 12: San Diego Chargers - No. 30
Wk 13: at Buffalo Bills - No. 22
Wk 14: Chicago Bears - No. 26
Wk 15: Oakland Raiders - No. 32
Wk 16: at Minnesota Vikings - No. 19

As mentioned, do not expect him to come out like gangbusters immediately. There will be a transition period as he tries to get accustomed to everything in Miami as quickly as possible. Once that happens, he could be a golden free agent addition to your squad and you can darn well bet he's circled the week 16 game "at Minnesota" and you can darn well bet he's going to go all out during that game which happens to be Super Bowl week for many fantasy leagues.

Gotta love the stage that's been set! Yet  to be seen if we'll get steak and potatoes [smiley=lickinmychops.gif] or leftover veggie meatloaf :-X
