Title: "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" - Week 8 Post by StegRock on Oct 23rd, 2002, 6:26am WEEK 8 "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" are simply to be ONE player from each of the FIVE skill positions, QB, RB, TE, WR, PK. Just list ONE for each position, no stats projections necessary. Let's keep it simple for the newbies! [smiley=newbie.gif] [smiley=newbie.gif] Addendum: you may offer up TWO groups, one more of the "stud" variety and one consisting of players better-termed as "sleepers." I actually encourage you all to do this if you have the time. I will give the basic template/pattern I want you to use. Again, PLEASE follow it closely for the newbies. [smiley=newbie.gif] [smiley=newbie.gif] THANKS! [smiley=bow.gif] Here is the pattern to follow (cut and paste it if need be): QB - ... RB - ... WR - ... TE - ... PK - ... (Of course, the addition of SMILIES is always cool! [smiley=beatnik.gif] ) |

Title: Re: "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" - Week Post by Jay on Oct 23rd, 2002, 12:49pm QB -- Daunte Culpepper -- Most people are really down on Culpepper after last week's dismal performance against a poor NYJ team, but he's playing a Chicago team that has a tremendously weak secondary at home looking for a rebound. RB -- I suspect that a lot of people will put Emmitt here, but with a rookie QB starting, Emmitt is going to get a lot of attention. I like Stephen Davis to explode against a weak Indianapolis D this week. WR -- I would double-dip here on the Minnesota tandem, because I think Moss busts out in a big way this week to the tune of 100+ and 3TDs. However, Marty Booker will really shine in this one, and he's more of a borderline starter. TE -- Chad Lewis -- He typically does very well against the G-Men. He could end up being the only offense in this game D -- Tampa Bay is going to win somebody their game this week because they are playing Carolina with a rookie QB, but anyone who wasn't starting Tampa this year is already living in a hole, so my pick this week is Tennessee. |

Title: Re: "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" - Week Post by bgsgfan on Oct 23rd, 2002, 3:39pm Studs: QB - Gannon against the Chiefs!!! Are you kidding me? He might have the best game of the year for any QB. RB - Basically all the studs are on bye, I'll go with Alexander (who has supplanted Dillon as the most hot and cold RB in the NFL) WR - I don't like taking 2 guys from the same team, but the Chiefs D is bad enough to warrant it.... Rice TE - Gonzo: even with the emergence of TEs this year, he is still the class of the league K - Morton Anderson has been the most steady kicker this year and will be involved in the shootout. D - TB, there is no other choice this week. Sleepers: QB - Miller or Chandler, whoever starts, against the pathetic Vikes. I can't call Vick a sleeper, otherwise he'd be here. RB - are you ready? William Green :o Cleveland wants to use him rather than the better White, and his explosion against the jets this weekend will give them an excuse to keep platooning. If you have him, start him, then trade him next week. WR - its amazing that you can call these guys sleepers, but most people would not be able to tell you the leading FF WR for the year and the best FF WR during the last 3 weeks. They are (drumroll) Hines Ward and Corey Bradford respectively. Gotta go with Bradford this week just because he is on a tremendous roll. TE - I really have no idea, so I will go with Davis from Chicago K - Hanson is having a good year and goes against the leagues 29th scoring D in Buffalo. D - Indy Colts against Washington, who turns the ball over frequently and allows sacks by the ... ummm... sackfull ;D |

Title: Re: "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" - Week Post by StegRock on Oct 27th, 2002, 8:08am To ALL those who posted, Thanks again for contributing to the greater good of "the Gridiron". There are some solid picks that have been made (outside of that Dodo who picked Rob Johnson as his PRIMED sleeper QB for the week... what an idiot... [smiley=spcartman.gif] )! ;) It will be interesting to see how it all comes out in the wash. That having been said, regardless, it is some useful FF info! [smiley=thumbsup.gif] |
