Title: any news on Redman/Blake in Balt.

I need a qb in another league and am thinking about Blake if he gets the start week 10.  Only other options are Kitna or Hasselcrap.   [smiley=smileytrash.gif]

I would not say he is much of an improvement over the other two, considering Cincy's pass defense is their one bright spot, but an improvement, nevertheless, he is.  Here is some "meat and potatoes" kind of stuff straight off "the Gridiron Newsstand (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/newsstand.htm)":

"Redman, in his first season as a starter, is still bothered by back spasms. Even if he's healthy enough to play Sunday, he would almost certainly serve as a backup.

That means reserve Jeff Blake will probably make a third straight start at quarterback. The Ravens (3-5) have lost both his starts and tumbled into third place in the AFC North.

Blake has played well at times, but the 11-year veteran threw three interceptions against Pittsburgh and lost a fumble that Atlanta converted into a touchdown. Blake believes he will start against the Bengals, although Redman has not formally been declared out for the game."

Hope this helps! 8)

I'd recommend staying away from Hasselback.  Kitna plays for the Bengals and Blake used to play for the Bengals.  Not the best resumes for either player.

I'd probably go with Kitna.  I imagine that as soon as Redman is truly healthy enough to play, he will.  Redman was slowly improving at QB for the Ravens and the coaching staff will probably want him back in there.
