Title: Re: Need help replacing FAULK this week Post by FourTwoOh on Nov 14th, 2002, 1:04pm the worst defenses against rb in the last 3 weeks Arizona vs RB New England vs RB Baltimore vs RB Buffalo vs RB Detroit vs RB Philadelphia vs RB Atlanta vs RB Minnesota vs RB Washington vs RB Chicago vs RB The best 10 defenses against rb in the last 3 weeks Indianapolis vs RB New York (A) vs RB Kansas City vs RB Pittsburgh vs RB Dallas vs RB Carolina vs RB Saint Louis vs RB Cleveland vs RB Green Bay vs RB Denver vs RB That should narrow it down to Shipp, Jordon, Gordon. of those, for a one week play, I'd take Shipp. Not positive that Faulk is out yet, however. |

Title: Re: Need help replacing FAULK this week Post by Walker_Boh on Nov 14th, 2002, 11:26pm I got this from CBS Sportsline: Edgerrin James practiced on Wednesday. He might be available to play in Week 11. The Indianapolis Star says his right hamstring is apparently fine, but there is some concern about his damaged rib cartilage. "If he's pain-free, he'll play. If not, we'll probably wait a week. I think he's hopeful, but we're not quite sure yet," Tony Dungy said. James is listed as questionable on the injury report. Ricky Williams and James Mungro are also available to play, they might see some playing time as well. That takes away my first choice of Mungro. My second choice would be Moe Williams followed by William Green. Good luck. |

I know you're only needing the one week fix, but with Shipp you get a shot at a legit starting rb sittin' on your bench for insurance. The dude has some fumble problems to address, but if you'll recall, Portis had a 3 fumble pre-season game and has only had one since. I'm not predicting monster numbers, but he's got some very favorable match-ups coming up. Once again, more and more it looks as if Faulk will play, so a decision may not be necessary. |

Title: Re: Need help replacing FAULK this week Post by StegRock on Nov 15th, 2002, 1:12am I agree with what FourTwoOh wrote. Shipp is a nice pickup for the long-haul and a decent pickup for this week. Hell, if I were you, I might go ahead and pick up Shipp and roll the dice and start Faulk, anyway, as it looks like he might play. The one other guy I like from your list about as much as Shipp, and perhaps Faulk too, for this week and maybe, just maybe, for the long-haul as well, is William Green. If he is going to succeed, this week against Cincy with Jamel White out would be the time to start doing so. If he just happens to, then you got yourself a real goodie. But, don't get me wrong... I wouldn't count on it! |

Title: Re: Need help replacing FAULK this week Post by Philly on Nov 15th, 2002, 11:52am Just want to remind everyone that despite last weeks meltdown, the Eagles still have the #4 ranked rush defense in the league. Add that to the fact that they will be playing angry and will be playing for pride. All I have to say is: Start Shipp at your own risk. [smiley=fumin.gif] [smiley=fumin.gif] [smiley=fumin.gif] |

It's all good. ;D They are on more than a one week slide though. 134 combined to Mungro, 104 combined to A Train and 173 combined to Tiki. Only 3 td's given up over that stretch, but hardly intimidating yardage numbers. You know I got plenty of love for the Eagles, but my main point in this eval, is that Shipp remains a good play even after this week. That increases his worth in my book over the others regardless of this weeks matchup. |

Title: Re: Need help replacing FAULK this week Post by Barnaby_Wilde on Nov 15th, 2002, 12:38pm I'd more than likely go with Shipp as well. I have read that William Green has looked better recently, and that he is finally grasping what his role is in the offense. That and them playing Cincinnati this week, I might take a chance on him. |

Title: Re: Need help replacing FAULK this week Post by Mossaholic on Nov 16th, 2002, 9:27pm Thanks for all the info [smiley=bow.gif]. I decided to pick up Gordon as it looks like the chances of Faulk playing increased everyday [smiley=greedy.gif]. I can decide between Faulk or Gordon up to 15 minutes [smiley=ontheclock.gif] before game time so that is why I went with Gordon and not someone playing on Sunday. |

Good move, I'm doing the exact same thing. I really thought Faulk would play but just saw he wouldn't talk about his injury. When a guy won't talk about it it usually means he won't be able to play and is pissed off because of it. Anyone remember that 98 Falcons-9ers playoff game where Hearst broke his ankle on the first play? He went to the sidelines, knew it was broken, and wouldn't let any trainers get near him while he watched the game, standing. Unreal. |
