Title: Which would you start?
Post by BALLHOG on Nov 16th, 2002, 8:21am
I'll start by thanking all who responded to my wr question, I'm sticking with Rice.
The tight end position has been killing me this year. I drafted Chaimberlain, he has since been waived and I picked up Becht, last week I picked up  Carswell from Denver. Do you think Carswell will get looks from Griese or should I stick with Becht.

I would stick it out with Becht this week, especially given the decent matchup he has, and take a wait-and-see approach with Carswell, assuming that is an option for you.  If not, Carswell is an intriguing pickup and if you are not faint at heart, go for it.

I'd take a flier on Becht as well.  Detroit isn't showing themselves to be nearly as bad as everyone (including me) thought they would be.  But I still think this will be a battle of the offenses, so that gives Becht a chance to grab a few - maybe even one in the endzone.

I picked up Becht this week in one of my leagues thinking he would get opportunities in the red zone as well.

Last week, after coming in for the injured Sharpe, Carswell made 5 receptions for 57 yards. In the past 5 games, Becht has made only 7 receptions for 37 yards. I'd take my chances on Carswell.

I agree, Carswell is stepping in to a spot on an offense that love to use the tight end. Becht has all but disapeared.  The jets appear to throwin the rock to coles and the running backs. This is the type of upside play I like to do.

Ok now, about that sig, Walker_Boh  >:( , I guess I'll have to take the highway.  ;D Never in my thirty plus years as an NFL fan, have I been so glad to see a player retire. In a way, that's a compliment. It's also about as close I'll get to givin' him one.  :P

Same here.  I fired Chambrlain 3-4 weeks ago and hired Becht.  This week I trashed Becht for Mili.  I tried to get Carswell but he was taken 2 spots before me.

I think Becht should get the call.   It should be a high scoring game (I hope so as I start 2 Lions guys on my roster each week...I still can't believe I do that) since both defenses look pretty week and he should get a few looks in the red zone.

Tice is an idiot.  I drafted Chamberlain and am having to stick him out because some idiots have 3-4 TE's on their roster (start 2) and the talent pool is empty.

Carswell looks good.  I wouldn't trust any starter for the Jets as you all know I think Hackett is the antichrist.  Carswell, Chamberlain, Becht is my order.
