Title: WEEK 12 K. WARNER PREDICTIONS
Post by Mossaholic on Nov 20th, 2002, 2:53pm
Another Warner post (I'm Sorry) [smiley=annoyed.gif].  I just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on Warner this week. What kinds of numbers you zenmasters predict [smiley=zenmaster.gif]. I personally think he is going to struggle [smiley=graduate.gif].  I also wanted to get some opinions on who to start this week

T. Green @ Seattle- Green hasn't been putting up much numbers lately [smiley=gettinridden.gif]. I'm afraid this is going to be an all Priest show

K. Warner @ Washington-are we going to see an MVP or a guy running around scared [smiley=scared.gif]. If Kurt is struggling what are the chances of Martz putting Bulger in during the game.

1pt/50yds passing 6pts/TD -2pts/int

Tough call. Do you have any other options at all? [smiley=policeman.gif]

I've got Warner twice, and barring any major news {such as Martz cancelling pratice today, wtf!} coming from pratices this week,  I'll be starting him in one and leaving him on the pine in another. Vick is who I'll keep him on the bench for. Pretty equal matchups there, The one I'm starting him in is arguably by default.

Miller, Bulger, Maddox, and Warner. Seems my decision has been made.

I'll make my case for Green probably later today, but it's not gonna be real strong.  Botom line, unless ther's a Couch/Pennington/Beurlein option, I'd start Warner in your case

I'd like to say start Warner, but he's been out for a while and it's tough to know exactly how healthy he is until he plays and takes a hit on that hand. [smiley=nervous.gif] (You know they'll be going for it too. [smiley=coolit.gif] [smiley=yes.gif]) What if he makes an early exit? Can you afford to lose this game?[smiley=no.gif] Plus, Faulk may not play this week and that will make Warner that much more vulnerable. I think I'd give him a week and see how he holds up. Besides, Green should be able to put up good #'s against a bad Seattle team. Good luck. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Leaning towards Johnson.  [smiley=turkey.gif]

I thought the rosters were froze but I double checked [smiley=checkin.gif] with the commish and they don't freeze until Friday. So I can pick up Couch or Pennington(8 team league). Both of those would be a better start, I would think.  So add to the list

Couch @ Saints

Pennington vs Buf

Thanks again for all the help [smiley=havinablast.gif]

[smiley=hooters.gif]Fair Warning Disclosure  [smiley=hooters.gif]
The following editorial is being tought of and written during Vivtoria's Secret fashion show. Thought processes definetly distacted

I've got a definite bias towards Couch{dance [smiley=hooters.gif]} as I just traded for him in a league where I was the McNabb owner. {ass  [smiley=hooters.gif]} [smiley=alcoholic.gif]

None of this is to be construed as anti Pennington as I really like that kid as well.{well, well,well  [smiley=hooters.gif]}

Couch has virtually identical {twins  [smiley=hooters.gif]} stats as CP, yet has played 1 less game.

tds Couch 12, CP 11
yds Couch 1702/55, CP 1745/35

Couch {dance  [smiley=hooters.gif]} has an above average soft {and squeezable  [smiley=hooters.gif]} schedule against ff defenses. Neither's scehdule is great, just Couch's is a bit better.

Better stats, better schedule {bless the thong  [smiley=hooters.gif]}

I agree on Pennington.  He has been playing well and tossing TDs.  I'm sure Buffalo will be happy to oblige...

I also have the Warner dilemma (is there anyone here @ the Gridiron that DOESN'T own Warner?)

I've got Warner, McNair, and just grabbed Brad Johnson as insurance for the playoffs.

I'm leaning towards McNair - he's been solid all year for me, so no reason to bench him now unnecessarily.  This is also the first week in about 2 months that he isn't on the injury report.  (Plus my opponent has a depleted lineup this week.)

FourTwoOh I've seen you post stats on the defenses that are weakest against the run and pass in the last month. Can you tell me where you get those stats at or at least tell me who has had a weaker pass D the last few weeks Saints or Buf

give me just a couple of minutes. Coming right up

All rankings are assuming performance scoring 6pt td 1 for 10 yardage for wr & 4pt td  1 for 25 passing for qb

Buffalo def, last four weeks, three games {wks 8,9,11},

4th toughest against wr corps.
103, 126 and 157 and 1 td to wr
68, 60 and 23 and 2 td's thru the air to rb
9th toughest against the qb
199, 265 and 197 and 4 pass 1 rush td to qb{note: qb has scored at least 1 td in each of these games}

New Orleans def, last four weeks, three games {wks 8,10,11},

5th toughest against wr corps
94, 209 and 100 and 1 td to wr
28, 27 and 29 an 0 td thru the air to rb
9th easiest against qb
195, 310 and 160 and 4 pass and 3 rush td to qb {note: two of the three games here were against Vick and the Falcon's. Counting Vick's runs, theyv'e given up 2 tds a game thru this stretch}

With 3 of the touchdows being Vick runs, it should be noted that Couch has yet to run one in. Buffalo looked very good against the Chiefs this last Sunday, and I haven't seen Couch or Pennington enough to get a real good feel for either one. Hope this helps.

To you and the others, ask anytime, it what I like to do

M.Faulks high ankle strain means he won't start
this weekend, which puts even more pressure on
Warner, I'd sit him on the Bench for this one,
Personally I like T.Green, hey there's even a chance
he might run one in himself...

I would go with Trent Green this week, just based on matchup alone frankly speaking.

Now I have a question!  How do you all think Warner's potentially poor performance this week negatively affects the prospect of playing the Rams defense in what appeared to be a good matchup for them just a week ago? ???

Bottom line, I have St. Louis @ Washington, San Diego @ Miami and Denver vs. Indianapolis.  Which one would you go with?  The categories are as follows:  yardage and points allowed, sacks, interceptions, fumble recoveries and points scored.  Anyway, regardless of that answer, though, I am still curious to hear all of you out regarding the initial query above. [smiley=hmmmm.gif]

WOW thanks for all the help [smiley=smileythumbsup.gif]. That is why this board is the best I can get good info here instead of just a bunch of uninformed bandwagon jumpers on other boards. Thanks FourTwoOh for all the stats I do appreciate it. I'm still not sure who I am going to start but all let everyone know when I decide.

I don't think Warner potentially bad performance affects the defense. They are still an excellent start I think. I would go with SD or St. L.  Just because of the QBs they are facing Wuerffal and Lucas.

Just to add my opinion to the one's you already have:

Warner looked bad in the begining of the year.  In his few minutes last week, he still looked bad.  Apparently, his throws wobble around in the air, making them inaccurate and difficult to catch.  Faulk being questionable means all the pressure will be on Warner to win the game, and Bulger is nursing swolen fingers I believe, and I doubt Martz will put him in even if Warner struggles.

I think your best option is Pennington, who is at 71% accuracy, and is playing extremely well.  He will have to throw this week to keep up with the Bills, who I believe will be back on track and looking for revenge for that Week 1 overtime loss.  If you don't want to get Pennington, T. Green's matchup makes him a must-play, since he will post pretty good stats even if it becomes the Priest show.  (don't forget in the begining of the year, Priest and Green's great games came together).

StegRock - I still think StL has a good matchup this week.  Washington will not move the ball effectively with Wuerfell at QB, and the Rams have loaded up on sacks, INTs and Fumbles lately (all except last week when I needed 1 more sack or a turnover to win).  I would have played them myself this week if I did not have SF playing against the McNabb-less Eagles.

I don't know why people are saying he doesn't throw good spirals.  I never thought he did.  I think the difference is Martz&Warner got carried away with their "system" and just needed Faulk to step back in.  That, and Warner was never that good.  As I pointed out earlier, both Green and Bulger had better ratings than Warner in relief.
