Title: Freaking help me out
Post by Bandit on Nov 22nd, 2002, 2:45pm
I have a bunch of RBs and can start only three. I am going to start Corey Dillon as one of them but what else should I do.

Faulk is ?, Bettis, Amos Z, Marcel Shipp, Troy Hambrick

I know I am reaching a little thin but with Faulk questionable, Amos and Bettis splitting time, I am not sure what to do.

Also would you go with Tampa DF at home against Green Bay or the Falcons away at Carolina?? Thanks

Think I'd go Bettis and Shipp. From what I've read, Faulk will not play this week. Can you pick up Gordon, or does someone already have him?

As for defense, rarely does Favre have two bad games in a row. I think he'll bounce back and put up good numbers. I'd take my chances with the Falcons D.

Bettis and Shipp as well. I'll take Tampa Bay on def.  There again, depending on scoring system, TB def is in the top 40 overall!

Bettis has owned the Bengals, so he is a must start, especially since the Steelers know they have to rely on the run with Maddox out and Kordell in.  Marshall will be a game time decision, so if he is out, then start Shipp, who did well last week against Philly.

Although TB is the top D in most leagues, I would pick the Falcons this week.  Carolina has lost their run game, and will be playing without Steve Smith who was suspended by the coach.  All the Falcons have to do is contain Mushin.

Going to buck [smiley=rudolph.gif] the trend here for ya... Give ya something to think about.

First off.  Go with the Falcons defense.  They're decent anyway and facing an offense-less Panthers team.  As good as the Bucs are, they are facing a Packer team coming off a bad loss.

Now for the RBs.  Go with Hambrick.  Dallas should keep the game close enough to stick with the running game.  Hambrick (Mr. 5-yds a carry) will begin seeing more time and should be productive.

Also, go with Bettis.  He'll probably get the goal-line carries against the Bengals.  He might not get the yards that Zereoue will in their RBBC, but he should get the TDs.

I'd go with Faulk and Bettis.:o I know Faulk is questionable, but something tells me he's going to play. He stayed off it all week and Martz says, "I'm more optimistic, certainly, than last week. I think there's a chance we'll have him." This being Warner's first game back, it's vital to the teams psyche and playoff hopes that they win. Marshall knows this and will tough it out for the team. If you had a better back up I would definatly sit Faulk, but your lack of depth makes this a good risk.

Cincinnati is ranked 31st in the NFL against the run, giving up an average of 138 yards per game. [smiley=lickinmychops.gif] Need I say more?

I would also start the Atlanta D. Not only was Carolina shut out (30-0) in their first match up this year, but I look for Brett Favre to be ready this week. He always seems to kick it up a notch when he plays TB and Sapp. Good luck. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

First of all, I would go with Bettis no matter what!

Then, regarding Philly's asking about getting Gordon, that is not an option for "Bandit".  Gordon has been on another team for a few weeks in "this" league.  THAT HAVING BEEN SAID, in the league he (we) plays (play) in, we have a "mercy" rule.  If a guy at ANY position has no "relevant" stats for the week, we defer to the next guy listed, and so on.  Given THIS, Bandit, I would go with Faulk.  If he plays, he will get his.  If he does not, it is no sweat off your back.  I would list Shipp as your #4!
