Title: Never sit your studs???????????
Post by ugley on Nov 26th, 2002, 11:27am
In the last 3 weeks Bledsoe(stud) is 28th in qb. points.  Collins is 16th.  This week Bledsoe vs. Mia. 14th against qb.s or Collins vs. Tn. 32nd against qb.s.  I find it difficult to sit Bedsore but his 1 pt. last week nearly sunk me.   Would you stick with bledsoe or give Collins the start?   [smiley=dejected.gif] [smiley=doseofreality.gif] [smiley=frustrated.gif] [smiley=nervous.gif] [smiley=shootmyself.gif] [smiley=sick.gif]

I think the premise of this argument is whether or not to sit a stud.  Is Bledsoe still considered a stud?  I know he was early in the season, but his performance recently has been abysmal.

I'd take a chance on Collins.  The Giants have a decent running game, so that opens up the passing game.  Toomer has been great lately and Shockey is getting yards as well.

Stud Schmud! IMO, it's one of those impossible to define terms. I guess in my personal dictionary's definition, there is no room for a extended slumps, more than 2 games, and no more than 2 of those slumps with other wise consistent to above average scoring. Long story short, Bledsoe is still a stud, barely. It's his first single digit score of the season, and it's been a while since he scored "above average" points.

quick note: just realised Bledsoe has only played 2 games in the last three weeks. Look at last three games and it should make it easier to keep Bledsoe in there. [smiley=smileythumbsup.gif]

In his last 5 games, Bledsoe has more turnovers then he does TD's...[smiley=sick.gif] and in 2 of those games he failed to pass for over 200 yards.[smiley=downthetubes.gif] I'm not sure what's going on, but I would be hesitant to play him until things improve.[smiley=nervous.gif] Collins has not done much better... in his last 5, his TD's equal his turnovers and he's only passed for over 300 yards 3 times the entire year[smiley=scared.gif] (and 2 of those were in the 1st two weeks of the season). Looking at the match-ups, Miami is ranked 6th in the NFL, giving up 193 yards and 13 TD's through the air and Tennessee is ranked 23rd giving up 228 yards and 23 TD's. This might be a good week to start Collins. Good luck. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Tenn gives up the most fantasy points to QB's of any team in the league.  Bledsoe hasn't done anything in over a month.  Bledsoe is not a stud.  Tenn makes QB's look like studs.
