Title: "Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" - Week 13
Post by StegRock on Nov 27th, 2002, 2:22am
WEEK 13

"Red Zone PRIMED Players for the Week" are simply to be ONE player from each of the FIVE skill positions, QB, RB, TE, WR, PK.  Just list ONE for each position, no stats projections necessary, BUT EXPLANATIONS ARE WELCOME. [smiley=yes.gif] Let's keep it simple for the newbies! [smiley=newbie.gif] [smiley=newbie.gif] You may offer up TWO groups, one more of the "stud" variety and one consisting of players better-termed as "sleepers."  I actually encourage you all to do this if you have the time.  I will give the basic template/pattern I want you to use.  Again, PLEASE follow it closely for the newbies. [smiley=newbie.gif] [smiley=newbie.gif] THANKS! [smiley=bow.gif]

Here is the pattern to follow (cut and paste it if need be):

QB - ...
RB - ...
WR - ...
TE - ...
PK - ...

(Of course, the addition of SMILIES is always cool! [smiley=beatnik.gif] [smiley=jammaster.gif] )

QB:Kerry Collins: Must bounce back from a dismal performance vs a bad pass defense
RB:Ahman Green: Also must bounce back after a terrible defeat. Look for him to have a huge game.
WR: Terrell Owens: Is on fire, and they play the Seahawks at home.
TE: Jeremy Shockey: Again, playing againts a bad pass defense.
K: Mike Vanderjagt: Why not? Coming off a huge game, now at home vs. the Texans.

STUDS
QB - Gannon... playing at home on Monday night against the 20th ranked passing D
RB - Williams... Buffalo gives up 131 yards and leagues worst 15 TD's on the ground
WR - Harrison... leads the league in receptions and yards receiving, playing Houston
TE - Franks... Favre's favorite target in the red zone, GB needs to get back on track
PK - Carney... TD's are hard to come by when you're playing Tampa

SLEEPERS
QB - Green... Arizona can't stop anybody right now
RB - Shipp... Arizona will need to run the ball to keep Holmes off the field
WR - Dwight... you can't run against Denver and Dwight is a big play guy
TE - Fauria... scored 2 TD's last week and going against the 30th ranked pass D
PK - Vanderjagt... came up huge last week and should have his confidence back

Varsity

QB - Tom Brady - The table is set for a huge feast against the Lions pass d
RB - Some guy named Holmes. I think he may trun out to be pretty good.
WR - Harrison - Best matchup of top 5 wr
TE - Kyle Brady - maybe he should be a second tier, but I like his current play and matchup too much to ignore
K - Martin Grammatica - One of the hottest kickers lately, plus you got the whole intimiation factor thing goin'

Junior Varsity

QB - Trent Green - Some where, against someone, he's got to go off big. Decent shot at this being the week
RB - Hearst - Barlowless opportunity finally comes. And against the Squawks?
WR - Rod Smith - This list is looking a little name heavy, but, Rod's not been getting the numbers his owners have come to expect. I think he shines this week.
TE - Alge Crumpler - One of the best football names around. Oh, and a hell of a nice matchup to boot.
K - Tuthill - Dallas is second only to Chicago in number of FG attempts allowed{31 v 27}
