Title: Re: QB question.. Post by Jetdoc on Dec 4th, 2002, 12:04pm I really hate Vick this week against the best defense in the league...the Bucs will find a way to contain him, unfortunately. Given that, I would probably lean toward Martin against the Kansas Shittians. Harrington has looked awful in recent weeks after being on fire at the beginning of the season. Yes, Arizona's defense can cure a lot of offensive ills, but I like Martin's chances better against a weak KC D and an explosive, yet underachieving, offense. |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by Philly on Dec 4th, 2002, 1:05pm Are you in a playoff hunt or just playing the role of spoiler?? After a decent 4-2 start, the Cardinals have self-destructed. It doesn't get much lower than being shut out by one of the poorer defenses in the league. Because of that, I'd take a flier on Harrington this week. If you are in a playoff hunt, I'd recommend sticking with your studs. Vick is playing much better than he was when the Falcons lost 20-6 in TB earlier this year. He'll still get his no matter who he is playing. |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by Razzak on Dec 4th, 2002, 4:09pm KC's pass D has been solid the last few weeks, especially in the Red Zone. Stick with Vick and pray. |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by paulinstl on Dec 4th, 2002, 5:47pm First round of the playoffs. I forgot I also have Hutchinson. I used to have McNabb and was drooling over his playing at Seattle in my first round. I think Vick could easily get shut down in Tampa Bay, but I am also one the never sit your studs people. Martin could have a decent game, but with the O-line problems, I'm leary of him. Fock! ??? [smiley=dejected.gif] [smiley=gettinhammered.gif] |

I think I know which league you're pondering here, but I'll shoot straight regardless :P In our scoring, Tampa has given up a total of 109points all season. They are the Priest Holmes of defenses. It's that far back to second{ok, maybe a little exaggeration, but not much. They've cracked a wee bit here in the last 3 weeks, allowing 3 consecutive double digit scores to qb: 10,10,14 {Only 6 all season and 20(once) is the highest} One of Tampa's strength's is sacks, which have stayed at 3 or 4 a game still. Tough play. They'll make it tough for anything but minimal numbers, but I don't see them shutting him down completly like they did earlier in the year. KC's defense has, fantasy wise, shut down three of the last 4 qb's it faced. Bledsoe, Garcia, and Plummer combined for 1 passing td. Hasselbeck alone torched us for three. Which d shows up for Govenor's Cup, part duece? Who knows. Martin didn't show me much in weeks 4 & 5, but neither did Hasslebeck. Martin has the most upside in his match-up, but Vick, by far, is the best be for some points. You've got a pretty nice point machine at rb, so I'd take the risk and leave Vick in there. |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by paulinstl on Dec 4th, 2002, 9:03pm Thanks, guys! And 420, I'm just hoping to avoid a first round upset so that the real Governor's Cup can be played in the PISL. I have an ugly feeling, that despite leading the league in scoring, I may get bumped early. [smiley=gettinhammered.gif] |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by DOLFAN on Dec 4th, 2002, 10:52pm Vick is the guys to start. Who cares if he plays TB. He will get you at least 1 TD. The Bucs are great, but still give ups ome points. Not to mention that ATL DEF is playing well lately, thus giving Mike more chances to make things happen. He has been studying film from teh 1st game to see what he can do better. He will be fine. Don't sit your MVP candidate. |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by Walker_Boh on Dec 5th, 2002, 1:41am I'd start Harrington.:o [smiley=ohshit.gif] Arizona has been getting used and abused[smiley=takinyours.gif] and shown no signs of getting any better. They've given up an average of 37 points in their last 6 games, losing every one of them.[smiley=ohshit.gif] (Including a 49-0 beating at the hands of KC last week)[smiley=thumbsdown.gif] This brings me to my next point... KC has been playing better D as of late and Martin is sure to be rusty... KC is a tough place to play anytime, but ESPECIALLY in December.[smiley=nervous.gif] Now I know that Vick has been a total stud lately, but TB completely shut him down the first time they played. [smiley=gettinhammered.gif] Vick was 4 of 11 passing for only 37 yards and was held to 1 yard rushing. 1 yard![smiley=ohshit.gif] Granted, he did come out in the 3rd quarter due to injury, but Tampa Bay had his number all day. Here's a quote from after the game: "I took a lot of good shots today," said Vick, who isn't sure if he'll be OK in time to play Oct. 13 against the New York Giants. "I hit my head two or three times. I bit my tongue. They put me on my back."[smiley=stars.gif] Of all 3 of your options, I think Harrington has the best chance for a big game.[smiley=thumbsup.gif] Of course I also recommended sitting Tomlinson last week...[smiley=shootmyself.gif] Good luck. |

Title: Re: QB question.. Post by StegRock on Dec 5th, 2002, 11:50am When in doubt ??? , which this thread is indicative of, stick with your studs. In this case, that would be Vick. Don't make the same mistake I made last week by benching a stud just because he is playing Tampa. I benched Joe Horn last week for just that reason. [smiley=doh.gif] Even just from a psychological standpoint, getting burnt because you played Vick won't sting nearly as much as if you get burnt because you didn't play Vick. I was actually initially going to suggest playing Harrington, but then I thought that that just muddles the debate more, in which case you should go with Vick. [smiley=zenmaster.gif] |
