Title: have I made the right choices? Post by ColaSteeler on Dec 14th, 2002, 5:41pm Playing my first playoff game in both my office leagues, after last week's bye. Do you guys agree with who I've picked? Scoring is 1 point for 10 yds rush/rec or 25 pass, [/b]1 point per reception[b], 6 points for all Tds, -2 per fumble or INT. Defensive scoring is basically 3 points per turnover, 1 per sack, and points based on yardage and points against (Defense only). Giving up 350 yards and 25 points will give you 8 points (4 each), so defenses score high when they create T/Os and score (6 points).. League 1: QB: Bledsoe (bench Brooks) RB: Holmes, Barber, Shipp (bench L. Johnson and Fisher) WR: Horn, C. Johnson, T. Streets (bench Chambers and D. Jackson - could also pickup McCardell, Jurevicious, Bates or Ferguson) TE: Shockey (bench Heap) K: Akers (bench M. Anderson) D: Jaguars (bench Redskins) -- thinking of getting Jets League 2: QB: Culpepper (bench Brooks) RB: Holmes, Barber, Bennett (bench A. Green and Fisher) WR: Horn, C. Johnson, Burress (bench Tim Brown; Porter) TE: Pollard (bench B. Franks) -- Jolley is available K: Carney (bench Hollis) D: Rams (bench 49ers) -- NYJ also available Any feedback is appreciated.....I'll answer some posts tonight after I get back from a dinner I'm going to. |

Title: Re: have I made the right choices? Post by FourTwoOh on Dec 14th, 2002, 6:43pm Very solid! [smiley=threed.gif] I wouldn't touch a thing with team 1. I'd choose Bubba over Pollard personally. More a case where I've always liked Bubba and against the evidence just don't care for Pollard. Both solid choices. |

Title: Re: have I made the right choices? Post by PA Outlaws on Dec 14th, 2002, 7:35pm Team #1 : I would play DJax instead of Streets. Other than that it looks good. Team #2: Looks good to me. I would probably play Franks instead of Pollard though! |

Title: Re: have I made the right choices? Post by Walker_Boh on Dec 14th, 2002, 10:44pm Normally I would have started Brooks in both leagues, but his injury makes him an unnecessary risk with quality backups.[smiley=nervous.gif] Team One: I'd go with the Jets. The chances of Chicago putting up big points is highly unlikely. Team Two: I'd go with Franks as well. Good luck.[smiley=thumbsup.gif] |

Title: Re: have I made the right choices? Post by StegRock on Dec 15th, 2002, 10:38am In response to a post above, I would actually stick with Streets over Jackson this week with Owens very beat-up going into today's game. One change I would make is put Andersen in over Akers. I think the Denver-K.C. game will be high-scoring, but I think the Denver "D" will do a lot of "bending" without "breaking". Thus, a lot of field-goal opportunities for Andersen. [smiley=yes.gif] |

Title: Re: have I made the right choices? Post by ColaSteeler on Dec 15th, 2002, 10:41am StegRock, I had heard that Andersen has an MCL problem I believe.......KC signed Husted. Normally I would start Morten, but this injury scared me, and I had no room for dropped points. That was my reasoning for starting Akers. If you have an update on Mortens injury, please let me know. |

Everything I've been able to get my grubby little hands on says Mort will kick some in pre-game and they'll decide from there. As Akers plays a noon game, and Mort a 3 pm, there will be no chance to find out without having lost the Akers opportunity. I love risking it, not here. |

Title: Re: have I made the right choices? Post by StegRock on Dec 15th, 2002, 12:37pm WOW! The injury is news to me. I may have to make a switch on my own fantasy team. Thanks! Anyway, with that knowledge in hand, I would go with Akers. |
