Hey gang,

Who were your fantasy surprises this year? Guys who out performed your expectations of them before the season started.

Here are mine:

QB: Trent Green (Jon Kitna in the second half)
RB: Tiki Barber
WR: Donald Driver
TE: Jeremy Shockey
K: Sabastian Janikowski
D: Carolina Panthers

Donald Driver.  Glad he was on the waiver wire in week 2.

QB: Steve McNair
RB: Clinton Portis
WR: Donald Driver
K: Jay Feely

I drafted McNair (automated draft) and felt he would be a solid backup, but he was a solid starter all season for me.

Portis showed up on the waivers in week 3 after Denver went with RBBC heavily at the beginning of the season.  I dropped DeShaun Foster from my bench and grabbed Portis hoping for the best...

Driver was a godsend.  I had drafted Johnnie Morton and expected greatness.  Fortunately I was the first to take a run at Driver and landed him.

Feely was also waiting on the waiver wire for me once Brett Conway went down with an injury in week one.

I drafted McNair, Portis and Feely, but without a doubt Portis exceeded my expectations, I drafted him somewhat early cause I had a feeling about him.
Rookie of the year for sure. Portis!

Portis. As soon as Terrell needed scoping after the teams first three-day mini camp, I made Portis my "must have" rookie. Not claiming to know he'd be THAT good, but got him in three out of my four leagues without over paying {round 9, 11, and 8} The one where I did not get him, he went in the 5th. Wish all my prognostications went as well.

Good job. I had Portis targeted for rd round 6, he went 2 picks before mine.  Had to settle for J. Lewis to back up Priest and Deuce Mc. [smiley=fumin.gif]

This was the first year of a fourteen team (four man) keeper league.  My best "surprises" were:

Trent Green - 5th Round
Clinton Portis - 9th Round
Donald Driver - 14th Round
Jay Feeley - Waivers
Plaxico Burress - Waivers

The draft for this league was just prior to the final pre-season games, so everybody had visions of Portis' multiple fumbles etched in their minds.  

I know it's hard to believe Burress was waived, but our league only carries 14 roster positions, it was his "bye week", Plax started slow and hurt, and his draft owner had a very good team.  

I parted with Driver just prior to our week ten trading deadline, packaging him with Billy Miller for Gonzo & William Green!

I've played fantasy football for ten years and never had a season "fall into place" the way this one did.  I'll probably not see such good fortune for another ten years!  Back to the grind...

Mine was portis I run a keeper league were you can keep one player who was drafted after the fifth round. I was able to grab portis in the seventh round. and now have a solid runningback to build my team this season on!

I had Rod Smith, and was quite disappointed. I guess we can blame Griese for that...maybe he'll turn around with Plummer there....

Probably Johnnie Morton (off the top of my head...)

He was pretty highly touted coming into the season and did squat...

Aside from the usual suspects listed above, I'll add Tomlinson.  I thought he'd hover around 8-13 this season, but really, really performed well.  He was the only back that didn't perform where I expected this last year.  Well, him and Faulk but I've got no regrets taking faulk at #1.  I guess I thought Alexander would do better but since I knew he wouldn't fall to the bottom of the 2nd I didn't really concern myself with him.
