Title: Seahawks Offseason Report
Post by StegRock on Mar 17th, 2003, 3:25pm
Darrell Jackson...

[smiley=drummer.gif] [smiley=guitarist.gif] [smiley=soapbox.gif] "Should I stay or should I go nowwwww...  If I stay there will be troublllllle...  If I go there will be doublllllle..."

Well, the lowdown as per "the Gridiron Newsstand" is that between the Tacoma News Tribune and a number of local radio stations it was reported throughout the weekend and into today that Jackson was a lock to return after not receiving an offer from the Jets; then Jackson's agent emphatically denied those claims to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.  Here is all the corroborative evidence:

http://www.tribnet.com/sports/football/seahawks/story/2777926p-2825895c.html;

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/football/112808_hawks17.shtml.

Hmmmm...  Was the quote by the agent just that, agent-speak that is? [smiley=sneaky.gif] Does Jackson have any loyalty to Holmgren and/or the Seahawks?  Anybody have any info/thoughts?

Edited to broaden the Topic!

I think he should go to Tampa. That's just my opinion.  [smiley=skull.gif]

Thanks for that neutral unbiased imput!!   :D ;D  [smiley=laugh.gif]

I actually think this is pure agent speak.  Maybe he does not want his client to have to wait a year before he gets payday.  Maybe he is trying to "encourage" a trade or more likely a sign and trade.

Either way, i think it makes Darrell Jackson look like an ass.

Anyone have a take on Darrell Jackson? It looks like K-Rob will be the man there this year, but I was wondering what everyone's projections are for him. Steg, what is your window for him this season?

Short answer to your exact question, BW, 950 to 1200 receiving yards and 6 to 9 receiving touchdowns.  A bit wide of a window on the yardage, but that is how I see it! [smiley=shrug.gif] There is also a wealth of information on Darrell Jackson on the following two threads:

Good news for all you Alexander owners. He is back in Alabama working with his college trainers to increase his speed so he can hit the hole better this year! Who says the man doesn't work out in the offseason!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

First of all, nice report, PA! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

On the topic of Seahawks pumpin' up this offseason and since the topic of Matt Hasselbeck has been discussed quite a bit throughout "the Red Zone", here is an update on his rigorous and productive offseason regiment HOT off "the Gridiron Newsstand":

This guy's gonna' do it!  I can just feel it in my bones! [smiley=dick.bmp] ...I said bones [smiley=skull.gif] , what a dickhead, not bone!  You're always wantin' to pop out every chance you get!  Sheesh! ::)

And, here is some REAL IN-DEPTH corroboration from a source you can get on "the Gridiron Newsstand":

This is definitely a good pick-up for the Hawks!
