Title: George, Martin, or Garner?
Post by Daunte Williams on May 1st, 2003, 11:35am
Fellas- I am looking at these 3 guys in the 3rd round this year. My reserves are Ricky Williams & Daunte Culpepper(hence my user name), so I need a decent #2 RB. The scoring is a yardage league with TD's only worth 2 points each. Of these 3, who do you like. I would be leanining towards Garner at this point, but I need some help.

Tough call! All three put up similar numbers. I don't think Martin will be there! I don't care what anyone says! There may be others available too, I think!

I am chocking from all the smoke being blown. [smiley=bonghit.gif]
I agree with PA, Martin will be gone by the time you pick, and I would take Garner over George.

1. George (Top 10 RB next season)
2. Garner (will not produce like last season)
3. Martin (will be gone... or atleast SHOULD be gone)

I really think Eddie's days as a top 10 RB, are long gone! I do not even consider him a second back this year. Look for the rookie Brown to be the starter by the end of the year!

I must agree with the Zags on the demise of Eddie George as a top 10 RB. His best days are long behind him and I would dare say that he is not a top 20 RB this year. The Eddie we used to know is gone forever, never to return.  [smiley=flamewar.gif] [smiley=gladiator.gif]

Eddie isn't who he use to be, but he is still a #2 RB in larger leagues. Granted he isn't anything to get to excited about, but he did have 1100 yards last year! The thing to watch as the season approaches is how he will be used this year. I think they will pass more, and he will not be on the field on third downs as much.

yeah Martin should be gone by the third but if he isn't take him next I'd go for Garner. I fear eddie will not recover completely from his past injuries.  He's been a work horse his entire career and it's really starting to show.  had the titans offense been as balanced in the past as it is now I don't think he would have this problem but he was the offense for years.
Back to the #2 back if push comes to shove try to grab a sleeper or two.  W. Green may fall that low because of last years performance but his end of the season play shows he has the talent it just took him a while to learn the system.  M. Bennet is another some may forget about.  K. Barlow may become the #1 back soon. there are a few that should still be there in the third that may be worth the risk.  If you can't get a stud or even a guy you're confident in than just pick the best player availible and worry about the second RB later in a yardage league RBs are important but you can pick up a starter and be fine if you're solid everywhere else
