Title: Trade Proposal

I really am not thinking about making this deal, but I wanted to see what you guys thought about this trade.
Marshall Faulk for Deuce McAllister.

Personally, NO WAY! Faulk is winding down, while McCallister is just getting started! Granted you can't go wrong with either one of the two. You have to always think ahead in keeper leagues though! Just my 2 cents..........

I agree... if it is just for this season, I'd take Faulk over McAllister.  But from a keeper league standpoint, McAllister is your man.  You can't go wrong with him this year and he has plenty more left in him.

I agree with the two Pennsylvania Dutchmen and the sarcastic DW ;) !

I agree with all of you, but I told him I would post it on site to so he could get some feedback. I counter offered him J.Lewis for Faulk, but since we play in the same division, the thought of seeing Deuce and Faulk twice a year was to much for him to handle.

Actually, ZAGS, in my opinion and 1) depending on how deep of a keeper league you guys are (which right at this moment is fleeting me) and 2) depending on what other backs he has or expects to have, if I were him, I would do it.  Lewis, I firmly believe, is on the verge of a HUGE season.  As for concerns about his knees, whatever... think Terry Allen or Robert Smith.  Unless the injury is degenerative, like Terrell Davis's was, I think with the technology these days, these guys' knees are even stronger after the (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL) surgery and, thus, less likely to incur re-injury.  I think the stuff that they replace actual ligaments with is stronger than the ligaments themselves.  ZAGS, I am inferring that you got McCallister and Lewis here.  I would just sit tight and enjoy the ride!  (Disclaimer:  I did make mention on the RB's '03 (http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=55;action=display;num=1052542407) thread that I do have a bad gut feeling about Deuce this year, but I realize that is a very subjective judgment and that objectively speaking Deuce looks yummy [smiley=lickinmychops.gif] this year!)

I agree.  I would keep Lewis and McAllister.  Very solid duo!!  You can rely on TWO top 10 players for years to come.

(I disagree with the yummy part of the above quote.  I NEVER am going to say a football player, or any male, is "yummy"  ) [smiley=Uwent2far.gif]

Another vote here for keeping Duece. Just too many good years ahead of him.

I would also make the Faulk for Lewis deal. I haven't given up on Faulk's short term future and he could be the difference maker if your team is on the brink of a championship. One of his big games is equal to 2 or 3 of another backs good games.

Nobody has "monster" [smiley=frank.gif] [smiley=Freddie.gif] games like Faulk and I think he still has a few left in him.

Hey, Mr. Boh, some of the other "monsters" [smiley=demon.gif] [smiley=evil.gif] [smiley=ghost.gif] [smiley=skull.gif] [smiley=vampire.gif] around here are angry at their not having been acknowledged.  They're picketin'! [smiley=protest.gif]

I made the mistake last season of trading Faulk for Tony Gonzalez, Lavaranues Coles, and Stephen Davis.

I started out the season 6-0. I finished the season 6-10.

Faulk will win games for you.

Faulky is winding down with the rest of the team. You could see the frustration in his face last year. I think last year it showed  most of the Def coordinaters have figured out Martz and that should carry over to this year again! Even thought i would love to see ya make the trade, I would keep the backs you have.(offseason trade track record not that great. ex. last year!) [smiley=rasta.gif]
