Fred Taylor for Stephen Davis.

It's an even swap!  Upside,... I don't know...  Which way? [smiley=shrug.gif] To me, it's one of those very subjectively-based "what's your personal gut feeling-type" deals.  This deal would be done by only one kind of pair of guys:  one who likes Taylor more than Davis, but has Davis, the other the opposite.  Me, I like Davis more... for now.  Ask me again next week and my mind might have changed, BUT NOT regarding Davis as he is OFF next week!  Just a heads-up there just in case, friend! I feel there is one upside to S. Davis okay make that two.

1.  S. Davis does not have a tendency to get hurt every year.  (this comes from someone-me that has had davis for 5 years or more).

2. S. Davis is on a team playing more strong defense that would love ball control and time of possesion.  That equals more carries.

Ditto.  Last week I liked Taylor more, this week I like Davis more.  Either way, I think they're both a step down out of the top 10 right now.

I feel exactly the same way.

I like Davis more than Taylor.  I think he will be more consistant over the course of the season because Carolina will play it close to vest and try to win with defense by playing a ball control offense.  I'm not sure the Jag's defense is good enough to keep games close and they may be forced to air it out in the 4th quarter to play catch up.  (See Tomlinson's first 2 games for S.D.)

Then there's that old fantasy football saying that Fred Taylor gets injury problems every two years.  Last year I had him, and he did nicely for me.  This year I don't have him, and I do have Davis.  Who knows if Fragile Fred will hold up.  I hope he does, even though I don't have him.  I LIKE the guy!  I'm scared of the injury thing.  If you do have him, handcuff the backup!

The problem with Taylor is who do you handcuff him to?  I am not sold on Toefield and Fu has as bad of an injury history as Taylor.

Overall I like Davis a smidgen more than Taylor, but I could see situations where I would want either of them.

If you have 3 good RBs, and one of them is Davis, you can trade for Taylor - he gives you more upside.  If you only have 2 good RBs, and one of them is Taylor, make the move for Davis who should be more consistent.

I like Davis more than Taylor right now.  Jax is a team on the downswing and will be forced to throw the ball more as it plays catchup when falling behind in games.  Carolina is a solid team with an excellent defense that will keep the opponents from scoring too much, meaning that Davis will be called upon more to work the clock and maintain control of the ball.

Besides, Davis has a better injury history than Taylor.
