Title: Who to start at QB?
Post by CoachH on Sep 16th, 2003, 3:29pm
Brooks v. Ten
Collins v. Was
Ramsey v. NYG

Have started Brooks the first two weeks, he picked it up week two but that was against the Texans.  Collins put up impressive stats last night against the Boys.  I picked up Ramsey this morning from the waiver wire.

Not sure who to play this week.  The team I play is pretty evenly matched at every other position with me, but he has Culpepper and I want to try to at least match his production.

I would go with Ramsey @ HOME against the Giants!

I would go with Ramsey as well because if Quincy Carter can cut thru the Giants "D" like a knife through butter. Then Ramsey, Coles, Gardner, etc should have a good day!

Last time I checked Aaron Brooks and the Saints offense are a pretty similar team, talent wise, to the Indianopolis Colts offense, who had a killer game against the Tenessee D.

Brooks all the way. Don't be fooled by last night's game.

I would start Brooks for the following reasons:

1) He is a better QB than Collins and Ramsey.

2) Ramsey got banged up this week so I'm not sure he is 100% healthy.

3) I think the Giants will be totally pissed off from losing to the Boys and play a strong defensive game.

4) Collins offensive line worries me espesially with the Skins DB's being able to cover one on one.

5) Brooks hasn't really put it all together yet this year and I think he is due for a big week.

I agree with all the above.  PLUS...

6) Ramsey is going to get sacked about 6 times this week since his offensive line is MUCH worse than the Giants D-Line.

7) Brooks puts up points.  Hell, he had 39 passing yards at half last week.  Ended up with 2 TD's.

Gotta GO WITH BROOKS!!!!

That's true, but so was/is Dallas's O-line.

I'd go with Ramsey because, as I made clear in another thread, I don't have much faith in Brooks.  Still, this is a close call and it wouldn't surprise me if Brooks has a good week.  Collins is probably the least likely to put up the most points.  I think I'd either want the hot young hand in Ramsey or the mobility of Brooks.  Collins.. well.. I'm waiting for his turnovers to start pouring in like they do every year.

If Quincy looked that good vs. the Giants, maybe Ramsey could post similar numbers, but I'd still start Brooks.

There is arguments for both Ramsey and Brooks.

The obvious as stated Carter did well against the G-Men.  Another reason to start Ramsey is after Monday night games teams tend to not do any good.  Again proved this year (both eagles and bucs losing) with neither team looking good.

Brooks is the safe pick.  They always put up numbers and it seems as if they are playing a little bit over rated defense.

I would give Ramsey a try.
