Post by shaw12 on Sep 17th, 2003, 1:21am
these are the only startng qb's avalable in my league.  m. brunell, k. boller, q. carter, d. carr  are any of these qb's worth picking up. performance scoring 1pt/25yds, 6pts/td

Sure, ALL of them are, especially Carter and Carr.  But, Brunell's still got some juice left and Boller will come along as the season progresses!

Brunell or Quincy.  You could also make a case for Carr, but I think Boller is far below the other three.  It depends what you need.  Do you need someone to rely on every week?  If so, I recommend Brunell for now.  If you want someone to hold onto that might explode this year (although unlikely) go with Quincy or Carr.

It really depends on what your situation is. :-/ Are you looking for someone to cover your bye week? Is this a keeper league? Who are your current QB's? Next time give a little more information so we can better answer your question!

If you're looking short term, I'd go with Brunell. If this is a keeper league, Carr has some weapons around him and could be good down the road. Good luck.

Considering your other QBs are Blake (who is already injured and is questionable to start on Sunday) and Holcomb (who has played so poorly he may lose his job to Tim Couch soon), you should definitely grab one of the other QBs available.

I'd grab Carter first.  He had a very good game against the Giants and has some confidence.  Parcells will get the most out of him.

Then I'd grab David Carr.  There is no QB controversy in Houston, he has some very good receivers, and a decent enough running game.

I wouldn't bother with Brunell or Boller.  Boller will be very inconsistent and will kill you with rookie mistakes.  Brunell has looked decent, but Jax is 0-2 already and will be 2-4 or 1-5 going into their bye week.  Unless they win some of those games and are at 3-3 or better, look for Byron Leftwich to take over the reins in Jacksonville.

Quincy impressed my Monday night. Carr has shown me something too this season, and he has three nice receivers to throw to.

I feel that Carr or Carter or good bets.  You figure they should be behind most of the time.  They both proved they can have a large upset.
I take it this is more for your bye week.  Look and see who each plays.  And pick accordingly.
Also drop someone else and get them both.  That way when some other chump's qb goes down you have some trade bait.  Especially if they both keep playing well.
