Title: The Willis McGahee question...... Post by mcohen on Oct 13th, 2003, 3:43pm Is it worth picking up McGahee [in a non-franchise league, of course]? What are the odds that he will play and contribute significantly this year. Any word on whether or not he can supplant Travis Henry by December? |

Title: Re: The Willis McGahee question...... Post by Noey21 on Oct 13th, 2003, 4:58pm If you have an extra roster spot then it is worth a chance. If you have to cut someone then i saw don't do it. If you have him at worst you don't use him and it's okay or best he does well you have him and your oppenent doesn't. |

Title: Re: The Willis McGahee question...... Post by StegRock on Oct 17th, 2003, 2:57pm Sure, he's worth taking a flyer on if you are dropping the likes of a Wayne Chrebet, Reggie Wayne, a 4th or 5th tier undependable receiver, or a Larry Centers, Jamel White, Robert Holcombe, a marginal/"tweener", i.e. filler, running back, or a Kordell Stewart, Kyle Boller, a marginal quarterback for him. Will he do anything this year? I surely wouldn't bank on it as my list of players worth giving up for him suggests. But, Travis Henry has been up-and-down this year, looking great sometimes and not so good at other times. I don't see McGahee "supplanting" him this year though he could definitely steal carries, but if Henry were to get injured, you'd have a real gem then. |

Title: Re: The Willis McGahee question...... Post by Callie on Oct 18th, 2003, 8:21pm The Bills have three weeks to decide if they're going to put McGahee on the active roster or sit him for the rest of the year. Looks like they'll practice and play him a bit over the next 2 weeks and then decide. You could end up with a back-up, an RBBC, a stud replacement or a guy on IR. Who knows?? [smiley=shrug.gif] |
