Title: Bears - Kordell/Thomas out - Chandler/Peterson in! Post by StegRock on Oct 15th, 2003, 7:25pm Stewart's "injury" has made clearer his path to the pine in the Windy City. There's not much available locally via "the Gridiron Newsstand", but here's what's on "The REAL Feed": Bears make quarterback change The Sports Network: NFL (15.10.2003 17:50) |

Title: Re: Bears - For those who believed... in Kordell! Post by Philly on Oct 15th, 2003, 10:27pm Since there was no link provided, I'll offer a brief summary... Kordell is hurt, so Chris Chandler will start this week. Coach Jauron avoided the question when asked if this was because of Kordell's injury or his ineffectiveness. He also refused to commit to Chandler long-term. He said the goal right now was to win one game and not look ahead. Anthony Thomas is also out this week and Adrian Peterson will get the start. |

Title: Re: Bears - Kordell/Thomas out - Chandler/Peterson Post by Philly on Oct 16th, 2003, 9:07am Honestly, I think they'll be a better team with Chandler at the helm instead of Kordell. Chandler should be able to get the ball to Booker, Terrell, and White - but only if Adrian Peterson can run the ball a little... |

Title: Re: Bears - Kordell/Thomas out - Chandler/Peterson Post by DOLFAN on Oct 16th, 2003, 8:29pm I agree that Chandler will throw more deep passes. This will finally make it worth while to start Bears WRs. |

Title: Re: Bears - Kordell/Thomas out - Chandler/Peterson Post by Callie on Oct 16th, 2003, 9:11pm This week the Bears have Seattle, and Seattle has had trouble against WRs, but watch Booker's ankle injury. The Bears are beat up again this year. And my Bears expert says that Chandler sucks. Generally. I think the Bears need to get back to a Black and Blue Division mentality. Like the present-day Bucs. Kordell may have been an idea like that, but, oh well... The Bears never had a Quarterback (except McMann), but ALWAYS had a running back who would get 100 yds per game and break for the big plays (as in Sweetness and Sayers). That's what they need to get back to. Thomas isn't getting it done. And obviously, my Bears expert has never seen them with such a pathetic Offensive Line. Remember Fridge?? |
