Title: WR Troubles Post by Tmoney300zx on Oct 17th, 2003, 4:29am Hey Guys. First post for me [smiley=newbie.gif], great forum! I have a 4-2 team, but have barely been winning each week. The scoring is 1 pt for 10 yds and 6 pts for a td. My WR have been giving me some problems, but the rest of my starters have been doing great. Here is my team: QB - McNair, Vick RB - Holmes, Ja. Lewis, Gordon, Dillon WR - Key Johnson, [smiley=gunsablazin.gif]Penisless Price,Chambers, Warrick, Ike Hillard, Reggie Wayne, S. Moss TE - Ernie Conwell PK - M. Anderson Def - Seattle This week I am starting Johnson, Chambers, and Price at WR. Not that solid. I could get Justin McCareins, Tyrone Calico, James Thrash, or Darnerien McCants to name a few from free agents. But those wont get me too far either. Alright, to get to the point. Who would you start out of all those WR? Also, I was thinking of trading with someone, maybe to get Holt or maybe not shoot so high and go for Boldin. Who would you trade? And what do you think the chances are of McCants keeping up his pace of TD's? Thanks [smiley=cheers.gif] |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by captainpurple on Oct 17th, 2003, 10:47am Welcome! I really like the SMoss matchup vs a HOU D that got [smiley=flamewar.gif] by McNair. Vinny will do the same. Price has a great matchup vs a terrible NO D. Chambers probably fights "The Law" this week, which will limit his production, but Me-Shawn is hurting so he might not be as effective. The G-Men offense has been shaky at best this year, so I'd sit Hilliard in this divisional clash with PHI. Wayne = BYE. Warrick has an OK matchup vs BAL. In the end, I think I go SMoss, Price and Me-shawn. Randy Moss absolutely torched SF corners, so even a hurt Me-shawn should have some success. GO VIKES! |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by Philly on Oct 17th, 2003, 11:42am I'd go with Chambers, Price, and Moss. I still think Chambers will be OK against New England. They're still not 100% on defense, so Miami could get some big plays to Chambers. Since you are so deep at RB, a position generally more important than WR, why not dangle Gordon or Dillon and see if you can pick up a more consistent (is there such a thing) WR. I wouldn't count on McCants keeping up his TD production. Calico could be a WR to watch as he is getting more looks and doing the most with them. Unfortunately if McCareins or Bennett get hot... Too many good receivers in Tennessee. |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by Tmoney300zx on Oct 17th, 2003, 1:02pm Thanks for the replies. Any other suggestions? I am looking into a trade right now and will probably trade Dillon and Key Johnson or maybe Vick (just a thought) for a wr, I havent decided yet. Jerry Porter is avaliable on waivers, think I should pick him up? |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by StegRock on Oct 17th, 2003, 3:35pm Yes, pick up Porter! Drop Warrick, Hilliard or Wayne for him, whichever one you like the least. For me, it would be Hilliard. [smiley=shrug.gif] Then, I would go with Johnson, Chambers and Moss at WR for this week. Kitner throwing the ball to Price would scare me... off! [smiley=scared.gif] Moss, like cp said, is a good play. As for a trade, I would consider moving Dillon for Holt or Gordon for Boldin or something along those lines if it's possible. Good luck! [smiley=shamrock.gif] Oh, yea, and WELCOME to "the Gridiron"! Based on the quality and depth of your initial post there, I think you will LOVE it around here! [smiley=yes.gif] |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by Callie on Oct 17th, 2003, 7:13pm Just a quick add-on. Titans say they plan to go to more 3 WR sets, and Calico gets a lot of the new stuff, for a few long ones anyway. He deserves watching! |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by Tmoney300zx on Oct 18th, 2003, 12:42am I do love it here, lots of great information. Im going to pick up Porter soon. Do you think that Laveranues Coles will pick up his TD production in the coming weeks? He only has one, and last season he only had 5, so that doesnt look good. But I agree with Philly, McCants cant keep up his TD trend, who has 4 right now. Betts (Iowa alum [smiley=thumbsup.gif]) only has 2 TDs on the rushing side. So the TDs are going to have to go somewhere, nowhere better than Coles. What do you think? It would be an easy trade for me to make. Another easy trade would be Koren Robinson. I think he will bring his numbers up in the coming weeks. Darrell Jackson has been a suprise for Seattle, but I think Robinson is at a low point and might be a good pick up. What is your input? Or maybe even Keenan McCardell? I dont know, too many ideas. But I do know that I need to change something.[smiley=frustrated.gif] Make sure you watch the Iowa Hawkeyes beat OSucksU tomorrow. [smiley=fingerscrossed.gif] (if you havent noticed I go to Iowa) |

Title: Re: WR Troubles Post by StegRock on Oct 18th, 2003, 12:58am I would rather have Coles over Robinson by quite a bit right now given Robinson's injury status. As for McCardell, I wouldn't give up much for him, but he'd be nice to have. [smiley=shrug.gif] |

Depending on your league. Is it a franchise league? Then keep Vick. When do the playoffs start? If you are guarenteed making the playooffs or a franchise league I would definatley hold on to Vick. If However, your reg season is 12 weeks and you are in danger of not making the playoffs. Then I would try and trade him....maybe to a top team bating them saying he will do you good in the playoffs.....or you know if you have him then so and so can't get him. I myself with a 2-4 record and in danger of not making the playoffs am dangling him out there for people. Just thought I would put in my two cents since no one really addressed the Vick part. |
