Title: My Line-Up...Who to trade?
Post by dolphinsdelrey on Oct 28th, 2003, 1:28am
My league requires you to have 2 Qb's, 4 Rb's, 4 Wr's, 2 Te's, 2 K's, 2 DT and start 1 Qb, 2 Rb, 2 Wr, 1 Te, 1 K, 1 DT. Because you can have 2 players on Injured Reserve, I have 2 extra players. What do you think I should do? Here's my team :

QB - Steve McNair, Byron Leftwich
RB - Jamal Lewis, Marshall Faulk, Domanick Davis, William Green, Michael Bennett
WR - Chris Chambers, Jimmy Smith, David Boston, Jerry Porter, Rod Gardner
TE - Randy McMichael, Bubba Franks
K - Jeff Wilkins, John Hall
DT - Washington, New Orleans

If I don't move a running back and a receiver before week 9, I will have to drop one of each. No one else will be able to pick them up so I won't be hurt playing against them. I've been offered Terrell Owens for D. Davis and J. Porter by my division rival, but not much else. Who should I keep and should I work to make a trade for a receiver? If I trade a running back, who should I move? Sorry for the long post..........

You have Chris Chambers listed as both a Wide Receiver and Tight End. Who's your other TE?

Woops. Randy McMichael is my other TE.

I for one, am not sold on TO this year, and Garcia continues to fight injuries.  I wouldn't trade for him.  The other "stud" I'm not sold on is Boston.  WR seems to be your strength, so try to trade Boston, Franks &/or Davis for a stronger RB or better defense.

GO VIKES!

I would imagine you're in pretty good shape in the standings with that line-up.

I'd be hesitant to unload Dom Davis right now as he is a very good #2 (especially if your league scoring favors RBs over WRs).  Lewis is a no-brainer, Green is inconsistent (and banged up to boot), Faulk is injury-prone and ineffective now, and Bennett is another big question mark.

You should be OK at WR with Chambers and Smith for the short term.  Boston is a bust, Porter is a question mark, and Gardner is unimpressive.

I'd try to shop Faulk and Bennett (there are people who still strongly believe in both) -- and Boston too, if you can find a taker -- for a #3 RB, a #2 or #3 WR, and a better defense.

I gree try and get a little better WR for one of your RB's.  Shop faulk there are still many believers that may give up a NICE WR.

This deal ain't that bad.  I kind of like it...  A blue-chipper, notwithstanding his slide of late, for two guys who may end up being studly or may not.  The jury is still out on them, period.  I also like what Noey21 suggests.  You have pretty good backs.  I would try to move Faulk NOW... or at least SOON.  Hell, if you're sold on Domanick Davis, I would tweak that above trade and make it something like Faulk and Porter for Owens and something, perhaps an upswing Buckhalter or Staley or Bettis.  Good luck!
