Title: Re: D. Davis or Faulk???? Post by DC_Disaster on Oct 31st, 2003, 8:40am I would choose Faulk, Porter and Smith. Faulk has been itching to get back on the feild and should have a good day even if Harris gets some touches. ;D Porter vs DET enough said. :P Smith vs BAL - JAX will be playing from behind all day. If Leftwich gets any protection at all Smith should be open. :-/ |

RB: Ordinarily I'd say go with Davis since he is healthy and has played very well the past two weeks, but he faces a tough Carolina front four and may have trouble replicating his numbers from weeks 7 and 8. So go with Faulk, but realize that he won't win the game single-handedly for you. WR: Jimmy Smith has been money since his return from suspension. Despite a tough defense in Baltimore, he should still get looks. Brian Griese had a nice game last week and found his receivers with some regularity. Since defenses have seen that he is able to spread the ball around (not to mention that they still have to focus on Ricky), Chambers should get his opportunities. |

Title: Re: D. Davis or Faulk???? Post by StegRock on Oct 31st, 2003, 12:41pm I agree 100%... with 2/3's of Philly's advice... I would, based on matchup (comparison... with Chambers, and Smith for that matter) and being due, go with Boston. Indy can be tough against the pass (and vulnerable to the run) and Griese has yet to really be tested. San Diego may be bad, but Chicago may be worse despite their victory over the lowly Lions last week. Also, away games are often easier than home games for struggling teams (and last week doesn't really count for San Diego). I actually like Boston more than Jimmy Smith, as well, for this week. Of your options for this week, I would rank him #1, Smith #2, but only by a nose over Chambers, who is #3, and you need to wait on Porter before calling on him. [smiley=shrug.gif] I am actually not crazy about Smith or Chambers this week (and I have Chambers myself in the GBRFL and may have to use him [smiley=nervous.gif] ). |

Title: Re: D. Davis or Faulk???? Post by Coachnorm on Nov 1st, 2003, 2:44pm Faulk over Davis....Interesting, as I have them both. or Faulk over Buck. Faulk, Davis. Buck, Faulk. Hmmm choices are too good. |

Title: Re: D. Davis or Faulk???? Post by Chumpzilla on Nov 1st, 2003, 2:59pm I've got to go against the grain on this one. I would start Davis over Faulk. Arlen Harris has been named the starter so Faulk's carries will be reduced. I realize Davis goes up against a tough Carolina defense, however, he wil be utilized in the running and passing game. As for the recievers, I would avoid Porter at this time. Even though he goes agaist Detroit, I would questrion whether Porter is 100% and am gun shy about whether Tuiasosopo will be able to get the ball down field. I also don't care for Boston at this point in time. He has tons of talent but Brees would rather throw to L.T. all day. All of that being said, I would start Chambers and Smith. |

Scratch that... Arlen Harris will start and Marshall Faulk will only see spot duty - whatever Martz thinks that means. Martz doesn't utilize Faulk enough when healthy, so if he's still a little shaky, don't start him. Go with Davis who is healthy and will get plenty of opportunities (although I wouldn't expect a great game from him). |
