Title: Indulging yet again...  QB HELP!
Post by StegRock on Dec 6th, 2003, 6:57pm
Gotta start two,... fighting for my GBRFL life...  Here are the options:

Kordell Stewart @ Green Bay
Doug Flutie @ Detroit
Brad Johnson @ New Orleans
Jake Plummer vs. Kansas City
Jake Delhomme @ Atlanta
Tim Rattay (not starting, but if you are one to roll the dice) vs. Arizona

Kind of ugly, huh? [smiley=smileytrash.gif] ...  Please HELP! [smiley=nervous.gif]

I think its  between Flutie, Johnson and Plummer.

Flutie will have a good game.  It may be his last and its Detroit!!

Plummer will hand the ball to Portis in the first half, then throw alot in the second(being behind and all).

Johnson plays well againt the NO defence and they will hve to throw alot to stay up with McAllister.

I would lean to Johnson first, then Flutie, then Plummer.

I'd give it a go with BJ and Plummer.  I like Rattay too, but I wouldn't roll the dice just yet.

If it's a GBRFL type league where starting Rattay wouldn't kill you if he didn't play I would roll the dice.   8-)

If my assumption in #1 isn't the case I would start Plummer.  Denver is, most likely, going to have to throw the ball to win.

My second choice would be Jake Delhomme.  Atlanta has been very friendly versus the pass (avg 251 passing yards per game and, on average, 1.5 TD's a game) and I like the addition of Johnson to Smith and Muhammad thus strengthening the WR corps.

Detroit is also very friendly to the pass, however, Flutie presses too much to try and make things happen.  Foolish mistakes like last week could get him yanked.  Also, a lead could lead into LT grinding out the yardage.

New Orleans has been decent versus the pass (giving up an average of 197 yards per game and slightly over a TD per game) and the TB receivers are depleted.  I would avoid using Johnson.

Kordell, well, he would be my last choice.

My ranking would be:

Rattay (only if it defers to your next player if he doesn't play)
Plummer
Delhomme
Flutie
Brad Johnson
Kordell

Yea, I'd take a BJ and Hummer too.    [smiley=hellyeafunny.gif]

Chumpman, yes, it is the GBRFL we are talking about here.  I still was reluctant rolling the dice on Rattay, though.  I could just see Garcia going out for like a play or series with an injury and then returning to the game and Rattay ending up like 1 for 2 for 3 yards. [smiley=scared.gif]

I ended up going with the "blow job" twins as they have apparently been dubbed on this thread:  Johnson and Plummer; #3 is Rattay.

Thank you all for all of your help! [smiley=bow.gif]

I hope no one rolled the dice with Rattay.  ;D
