The Tampa Tribune reports free-agent RB Thomas Jones, projected to be the Bucs' feature back after he put together a strong finish to the 2003 season, agreed to contract terms with the Chicago Bears early this morning. Terms of the deal were not immediately available

This tidbit is also from one of the Chicago papers, no story yet:

Two Chicago sports talk stations -- WMVP and WSCR -- were reporting Wednesday morning that the Bears had signed free agent running back Thomas Jones and free agent quarterback Jonathan Quinn.

So I guess this is the type of thing that gets the Bears Offseason Report back on page one (KFFL):

"Bears' Urlacher Injured; Set to Undergo an MRI

Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher (hamstring) was forced to leave practice Wednesday, July 28, after suffering a hamstring injury. He walked under his own power to a cart and then was driven off the field. He's set to undergo an MRI Thursday, July 29. 'He got a pretty good pull,' said general manager Jerry Angelo. 'We'll know more (Thursday). (I'm) not really optimistic that it's going to be something that's going to be a few days. (It will be) probably a little longer than that. We'll see for sure (Thursday).'"

THAT MIGHT HAVE TO GO DOWN AS THE GREATEST TRADE OF ALL TIME.  I DON'T THINK WE HAVE EVER HAD A PASS RUSHER SINCE THE GLORY YEARS IN THE 80'S

WAY TO GO BEARS.  NOW I HAVE SOME HOPE FOR THE DEFENSE

The fact that the Bears were willing to trade their top WR from a perceived area of weakness instead of their #2 RB from an area of perceived strength is intriguing...

Could it be that Lovie isn't as sure that Thomas Jones can carry the load as he is letting on?

NO WAY, THOMAS JONES HAS BEEN LOOKING SWEET FROM THE PRESEASON GAMES I HAVE BEEN WATCHING AND NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING A STRONG BACK TO GIVE SOMEONE A BREATHER.  LETS JUST HOPE TERRELL AND THE REST OF THE BOYS CAN STEP UP.

THOSE THE RECEIVER DID NOT LOOK SO HOT YESTERDAY AGAINST THE SAINTS.
