Lots of news breaking these days about the likelihood of Carson Palmer's taking the starting quarterback reigns in '04.  Here's the bead on "The REAL Feed":

Here's some local follow-up from "the Gridiron Newsstand":

There's also some Rudi news mixed in (report/link #2 above).

Any thoughts...?

Well, it's officially spring!  And, as per "the Gridiron Newsstand", it looks like with the warm weather on its way, Warren Sapp will be heading north... to Bengal Country:

BIG acquisition for the Bengals!  He may be well beyond his prime physically, but he could still definitely contribute to a young upstart Bengals squad who has a defensive-minded head coach.  Most of all, he brings HIGH ENERGY, veteran savvy, a winning attitude, and playoff and Super Bowl experience.

HOT off "the Gridiron Newsstand", RB Rudi Johnson misses deadline, loses leverage, expected to re-sign soon... AND get a boost (into the starting role) by way of Corey Dillon's being traded,... perhaps as soon as next weekend during the draft:

Rudi doesn't lose any leverage at all.  He wasn't going to get any offers being tendered at a 1st and 3rd round.  The  Bengals have a year to sign him or he becomes an unrestricted free agent.  Look for him to get a contract similar to the one Barlow got.
