Title: McGahee causing trouble, draft value?
Post by captainpurple on Aug 20th, 2004, 3:26pm
I can't recall ever hearing a rookie (for all intensive purposes) demanding to start or be traded!   Seems pretty cocky to me for a guy on a team that didn't even win the Nat'l title!

Anyone think the Bills will trade one of these two mid season or sooner?   I might bump McGahee up if he's going to a team that needs a runner.   The Henry to MIA rumors have been hashed out already, and if that happens, both their stocks rise.

GO VIKES!

I listened to Mike Mularkey on ESPN Radio this morning and he seemed to indicate that Henry is their #1 and that McGahee will be spelling him this year.  I anticipate that one of the two will be gone before next season starts, but you'll notice that the article linked above indicates an "anonymous source" and that the Bills have denied that any such demand was made.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Buffalo Bills running back Travis Henry left Saturday night's preseason game against Tennessee with an injury to his left side.

Henry was hurt 10 minutes into second quarter as he was preparing to catch a pass, taking a hard hit and getting knocked over by Titans linebacker Keith Bulluck. In breaking up the play at Titans' 20, Bulluck hit Henry high under his left arm, sending him tumbling to the field.

Henry lay on the field for a few minutes before being helped up by a Bills trainer. Henry slowly walked off the field and was escorted to a cart on the sideline and was then driven to the locker room.

(I lost the link.)

X-Rays were negative.  He may have bruised his ribs.
Just in case you're drafting tomorrow.

Yes, bruised ribs it is...  From "The REAL Feed":

Though my "general" take on Henry for this season has not changed (as per http://www.fantasyfootballer.com/cgi-bin/theGridiron/YaBB.cgi?board=55;action=display;num=1081037304), there is NO questioning this guy's heart, tolerance for pain and game.  Henry plays through broken legs, for goodness sake...  Bruised ribs may make us mere mortals double-over in pain for months, but for Henry these bruised ribs will be a cake walk... or should I say run.
