Title: Calico or Terrell Post by jabenus on Aug 24th, 2004, 8:42pm question is should I pick up Tyrone Calico and drop David Terrell? We all know Terrell is the #1 receiver in Chicago but of course look at the upside of Calico. |

Title: Re: Calico or Terrell Post by BarnabyWilde on Aug 24th, 2004, 8:47pm Tough call. I like Calico's upside, esp. w/ McNair throwing to him. But, Terrell is the #1 now, he is in that magical 3rd year, and he seems to be having a nice camp. I think I'd keep Terrell. But it's very close! |

Title: Re: Calico or Terrell Post by Philly on Aug 24th, 2004, 8:49pm Give us some information about your league... is it a keeper? What other WRs do you have? How many do you have to start? |

Title: Re: Calico or Terrell Post by jabenus on Aug 24th, 2004, 8:52pm My other wide receivers are Torry Holt, Charles Rogers, Andre Johnson and Jerry Porter. So what you think about that dropping Terrell for picking up Calico thing. Is it a better scenario to pick him up with these receivers already on board? |

Title: Re: Calico or Terrell Post by Philly on Aug 24th, 2004, 8:55pm With those WRs you already have, I think I'd give Calico a shot. He has more potential than Terrell and a better QB throwing to him. If Drew Bennett can't stay healthy, then Calico could be huge this year... |

Title: Re: Calico or Terrell Post by StegRock on Aug 24th, 2004, 9:04pm I actually think that Terrell has more potential than Calico. Terrell now is the proverbial go-to receiver in Chicago. Was the Bears moving of Booker an endorsement of sorts of Terrell? The question is begged. Mason will remain the #1 in Tennesse. So, Calico is an NFL #2; an FF #3 at best (and barring injury to Mason, of course). This is make-or-break season for Terrell, not to mention the 3rd-year breakout receiver factor. I say with the roster you have, you don't necessarily need a weak-to-solid #3 or #4 like Calico, the safer bet. You have enough wiggle-room to roll your dice on Terrell. I say do it. |

Title: Re: Calico or Terrell Post by captainpurple on Aug 25th, 2004, 10:17am Dont forget the Bears are installing a new O this year. They are supposedly going to a more vertical offense, but I don't know that they've got the personnel for it. Jones could be a Faulk-type, but has a long way to go to prove that. Their o-line is almost completely revamped. They've lost their best (IMO) WR. They've got a young QB learning a new O. Calico has almost none of these issues. Major con here is opportunities, which Terrell will almost certainly see more of, at least in terms of plays on the field. I don't see the Bears O doing much the first half of the season, they'll be winning with D. I'd go with Calico. GO VIKES! |
