Title: Now Holmes may be out this week too

Holmes said to be doubtful in a very preliminary report from KC with an ankle sprain.  Derrick Blaylock is noted as his probable replacement if he misses this week.

It sucks to be a runningback today, who's got the voodoo doll ?

RB Priest
"Holmes is considered doubtful-to-questionable this week with an ankle sprain. The injury is not considered a high ankle sprain, so they are just going to wait and see if he heals up this week."

Sorry, no link yet, because:

"The Chiefs really kept this one quiet and might come under scrutiny for it."

AFC West stuff.

From "the Gridiron Newsstand"...  Related news items:  Holmes listed officially as questionable; Kennison as well; Johnson, who could see an increased role if Holmes were out, disparaged by Vermeil...  All respectively presented...

Ok.  Were Vermeil's comments to motivate Johnson or is he in the "dog house? [smiley=idontknow.gif]"

If you had to pick between Johnson or Blaylock...  especially for Week #3, who do you grab?

Coach-speak today:

If I had to start one of them, I'd start Blaylock.  But in the AFC West they play it close to the vest.  They keep it quiet for a reason.  When do you have to submit your lineup?

My add drop deadline for two leagues is noon today.  So my first decision is whether I pick up Blaylock or Johnson at all.  Then I have until Sunday, 5 minutes before gametime, to decide whether to start one of them.   [smiley=stars.gif]

All I can add at this point is that Sirius NFL radio is reporting that Priest practised today. More details to follow when/if available.

Regarding Vermeil's disparaging comments about RB Larry Johnson, from "The REAL Feed":

No link available, but an interesting blurb from Fantasy Guru:

Holmes practicing Friday - We called our Chief guy who was literally watching Priest Holmes from 10 feet away practicing today as we spoke and doing some things that surprised him. So right now, our guy says it looks pretty good for Holmes - 9/24 @ 1:45pm ET

[smiley=Imwithstupid.gif] (I've been waiting to use that one.  Sorry Callie!) [smiley=hellyeafunny.gif]

I heard the same thing.  FBG reported "Our sources in Kansas City report that in today's practice, Holmes looked surprisingly good. He was able to participate in about 3/4 of the work. Coach Dick Vermeil appeared extremely pleased with his progress."

For what it's worth!
