Title: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by Chumpzilla on Oct 4th, 2004, 10:18pm Dallas Clark seemed like he was going to be productive for the Colts earlier in the year and now he's done a disappearing act. I know he was banged up but the last two weeks he has done nothing. Anyone know what's up? [smiley=shrug.gif] |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by Callie on Oct 4th, 2004, 11:26pm The general consensus is that he should be benched for the time being. Too many targets. I have him in two leagues. I haven't decided yet. But he's a TE! If you have the bench space, you can put in someone else for now. You know the names. If not, you can just keep playing him and take the hit. If you have doubts, check out the WW and decide on that. That's what I would do. If no one else is a better choice, keep him. If you have a newbie choice out there, grab him. |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by Philly on Oct 4th, 2004, 11:55pm Yeah, he looked like he was going to be an integral part of the offense in the week one game against the Pats... they threw to him pretty often. Then the minor injury and now he's off the radar completely. Weird. |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by Chumpzilla on Oct 5th, 2004, 4:52am With 16 teams and the TE's getting 3 pts per catch the pickings are thin. Here are the highest scoring free agent TE's available in our league, based on our scoring system, through week #4: Erron Kinney Jason Dunn (I have Gonzo who is on a bye this week) Doug Jolley Chris Baker Kris Magnum Ken Dilger Matt Schobel (On a bye with Gonzo this week) Stephen Alexander Desmond Clark (On a bye with Gonzo this week) Patrick Hape Ernie Conwell Aaron Shea Billy Miller Richard Owens Jerramy Stevens [smiley=ghost.gif] [smiley=stars.gif] I picked up Dallas Clark last week thinking he could be a good bye week filler AND maybe even flex start based on our scoring system (TE's rack up pts with the 3 pts per reception - Eric Johson threw up 37 pts last week without a TD). [smiley=shrug.gif] [smiley=uh.gif] [smiley=idontknow.gif] Thoughts? |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by steelkings on Oct 5th, 2004, 8:21am The biggest problem with Clark is.......He's not the starter. Marcus Pollard is. Clark will be better later in the year when Pollard wears down. Now he spot blocks for james around the end. |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by Philly on Oct 5th, 2004, 12:43pm I'd give Dallas Clark a chance this weekend with KC on a bye. The only other option would be Doug Jolley. He is getting some looks in Oakland and his opponent (Indy) is pretty weak on D. I like Clark better as the long-term #2 TE behind Gonzo. |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by captainpurple on Oct 5th, 2004, 1:25pm Billy Miller might be a nice sleeper vs MIN. Vikes are banged up at LB. Henderson, the starting MIKE is out this week, and Claiborne, starting SAM, is banged up. That leaves Thomas (rookie) in on nickel packages. Thomas was burned several times in the PHI game and LJSmith caught a TD due to that direct missed assignment. I also have Gonzo and might go with Miller as my fill-in. |

Title: Re: Colts Fans?? Dallas Clark? Post by Callie on Oct 5th, 2004, 6:30pm I agree with Philly except for the Jolley thing. Jolley's great, but he'll be spotty and with no great match-up predictability - because fortunately the Raiders have a lot of targets these days. Unfortunately, Collins has to get comfortable. So far, I'm keeping Clark in the two leagues where I have him. Then again, I don't get three points per reception from a TE. With the guys available to you, I think you have to go for the long term and for the boom or bust games. |
